Totally amateur phone camera pics thread.

...? Don’t leave us hanging’.
1973: Ben Lomond, Ca. Middle of night. It was spring time and at 22 I was feeling it! No drugs or alcohol! I was a tea drinking hippie! I was waiting for a female to come home so we could party! My friend was asleep in his sleeping bag about 10/12’ from where I was sitting cross legged on the floor. The cabin was an older structure with a board and batte construction On the outside placing a thin vertical strip of wood every 16” or so. All this on a build up foundation so you walk up and in to a porch that was inclosed.

Suddenly, a tap started to hit the strips of wood on the outside of the house? It started going around the house at an unheard of speed! It was incredibly loud! You could hear it hit the pipe on the back of the house and at the same time it was coming in to the front porch across the screen and out again. It hit every batte and never varied in height it stayed at the same level around the exterior of the cabin. My friend woke up momentarily and asked what the noise was but then instantly fell back to sleep. Before he instantly crashed back to sleep, I was able to ask, while this event was still happening, “Do you hear that?” He mumbled yes! It was so loud from the speed at which the phenomena was hitting the cabin I couldn’t believe the whole neighborhood wasn’t hearing this.
Anyway, didn’t stick around for some spring time hippie love. I just wanted to get the hell out of there! Never went back!

They looked like crab pots. I’ve been crabbing in LA but the crab pots (nets) are different. They’re collapsible nets, circular and fully open on top. Similar to what’s in the video. We would tie a fish head or tail in the center. With 10 nets you can bait and drop the first one in and by the time you drop the 10 th, you can return to the first and there’s three or four crabs in it. We would bring two ice chests to fill. We’d boil them with salt, a Bud of garlic and bay leaves. Clear the table cloth, lay down newspaper, and melt some butter with garlic salt, add a few pony Miller beers and you are set.

Yes, you are set.

Today’s walkabout view at work.
