It was just a gorgeous day yesterday here in Sacramento:
our daughter’s Mother’s’ Day gift to her mother...
This looks like the room where the magic happens.
Went up north last week. Going back south yesterday, 65 was in periodic parking lot mode it was so packed. One stretch of almost a half hour in a crawl stop crawl situation found me behind this.
You’ve just reminded me of the worst traffic jam I’ve ever been in - heading back from Vegas to San Diego on a Sunday night along with about half of South California. Bumper to bumper for hours. The only other one that came close was the queue to get into Glastonbury festival one year but that doesn’t count as my Irish friend Valerie kept jumping out of her car in front and delivering freshly mixed gin and tonics (I wasn’t driving and nor was she). Gotta love a road trip!

Here's one of two recently restored feed silos on my Wednesday route. I think they are just for looks now, positioned at the entrance to a new Industrial park.
On our way to the ice cream shop. I used to live in an old “close” (Scots for alley) like this when I first moved to Edinburgh.

The arches would have been for horses and carriages so I’m guessing that there was once an inn and stables here. There was a big brewery just a couple of hundred yards away which is where the Scottish Parliament now sits. Now, now, no jokes about drunken Scotsmen.
That reminds me of a comment Prince Phillip made to a Scottish driving instructor in 1995: "How do you keep the natives off the booze long enough to pass the test?"
