Went to see if the salmon were running at the Falls of Braan today. No luck. The water was full bore today though and its maybe a week or two early. I have seen them jump up these falls before. They fall down a lot before they make it as its a steep jump.

If it was a lightning strike, how cool would it be to see ground-level video of the moment it got popped? I bet there was a nice, campfire smell in the air as well. :D

heres a big ol larch that lost a huge strip out of it from a lightning strike i am assuming or it had a fault and high winds caused it,,but some of the strip landed quite a ways away from the tree..

By US standards this is just up the road from Edinburgh (about 90 minute drive). You can get to decent mountains in 2 hours. Not quite mt McKinley but some good remote high stuff. Something like 70% of the population is in the central belt between Edinburgh and Glasgow and most of the rest live on the East coast. That leaves plenty of space in the rest of the country for peace and exploration. I don’t think we have any bear but there are now wolves in reserves and wild boar to go with the deer and eagles. I love it up north.

it wouldve been a cool shot! i wasnt sure if it was lightning as we couldnt see any trace of burnt wood, only other thing maybe it had a fault in its trunk and the winds we get up here worked it until it popped maybe..
