It's more comfortable than what I've been using and I think it's as good as I'm going to get without going for a $$$ custom. I may try to modify it or design and build another but the jury's still out on that.
When that picture was taken the pickup was an inexpensive Fleor high output guitar humbucker I found on Amazon for less than $14. I already had the mounting ring for it but they're also inexpensive on Amazon.
Because of an issue with my right hand due to the stroke I kept hitting the blade causing a noise so I replaced it with a Rubatone humbucker for a Les Paul guitar from Amazon. The pickup has a black plastic cover which eliminated the noise should I hit it. They only sold them in a neck/bridge set but they were also inexpensive and seem to be as powerful as the Fleor pickup. Unfortunately they are currently unavailable on Amazon.
