I recently learned that Russian steel is of very high quality. I've got a piece of it in my neck that's been there for a long time and apparently it was in too tricky a place to remove when it was deposited there. I was told no problem, it's a small sliver and it will most likely dissolve in time. Fast forward to my last routine checkup and after the usual X ray of my neck, i was informed that the piece had shifted and was in danger of bearing on my carotid artery and had to be removed, which can be done with a simple outpatient procedure, which is scheduled for next week.
So in addition to learning about the quality of Russian steel, i also learned about the tremendious advances made in surgical equipment, techniques, and procedures.
A twofer of worthless info.
