I live opposite the IOW, have managed to convince a few that it's France, others that it's Sark (part of the channel islands).

if you're coming to boston:

we do not pahk our cahs in hahvad yahd, so don't ask. and it wasn't funny the first 14 billion times either.
if you're planning to stay in the city, DO NOT DRIVE!!! too much traffic and roads make no sense.
touring academic institutions is cool, but realize that people are actually trying to study there. be considerate.

Saint Louis:

Stay away from East Saint Louis.

Also, while in Saint Louis, make sure that you don't actually stop at stop signs. Everyone just rolls through them.

Last of the REAL baseball parks. That travesty across town, and all the shennagains they put on, that ain't baseball.

It's been too long since my last pilgrimage, maybe next year...maybe next year...ivy and bricks and real grass...I even cried the night of August 8, 1988...it's supposed to be played under REAL light too, isn't it?

Excuse me...last of the real ball parks? Are you not familiar with The Stadium? 's out in the Bronx. Babe Ruth played there once.

I'll chime in on this one and say that Boston is one of the coolest cities I've ever visited. People are crazy friendly, there's tons to do, and the subway is really easy to figure out and it will take you to all the places that you want to see.
