Tourist rules for your city

If travelling anywhere in the Middle East, please don't mispronounce Iran and Iraq. It is not pronounced Eye-raq and Eye-ran. Nor are Italians called Eye-talians.

Italy, Iraq, Iran have their "I" pronounced the same.

But we are the almighty Americans that have all the nukes and that's how they teach us to say them on fox news :rolleyes:. ;)

The OR coast is awesome!
I used to play at Lloyds of Bandon...have you been there?
man i miss that pace...
Are you in Black Eyed Blonde? If so, you played here too! I saw your poste up in Boulder City as well -- at The Backstop Tav. My dad lives there (yes to both)

Yup. Been to Lloyd's. Haven't played it. Bartender just got shot there.
Played Lord Bennet's, The Arcade, The Barn, Bandon Bill's Grill, Fraiser's and the everpopular Cranberry Fest.
Coos Bay: Blue Moon, Bay Club, Wanda's, Roger's Zoo.

Speaking of pronouncing things: if you know French and go to New Orleans, don't try to pronounce anything with a French name correctly. Pronounce it as if you're from Texas and have never heard of French in your life.

Well, not ALL of the city is in that boat.

However, yes, some are, such as Burgundy St. in the French Quarter, which the locals insist on pronouncing "burr-GUN-dee", not "BUR-gun-dee"....never quite figured that one out.

:confused:

And if you're on I-4 by I-Drive/Universal/Disney and one of our summer downpours hits... DON'T PUT YOUR HAZARD LIGHTS ON AND SLOW TO 15 MPH.

OH MY GAWD!!! IT'S RAINING!!!

:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

:rollno::scowl::spit::mad:

Nothing made me wish my car had a Vulcan cannon mounted on my Civic more than that horse$h!t....like they never saw rain?

(...somewhat in their defense, a standard-issue Orlando summer thunderstorm can be intimidating the first time you experience that 5 minutes of mommy nature's fury...;) )

To all the NYC transplants and tourists: You can turn right on red after a full stop.

Sunscreen. Wear it if you plan on going to the beach.

Don't wear Hawaiian shirts. Hawaii is almost 5,000 miles away.

These hats mark you as a tourist. No one from Florida wears them. Ever.

If you're driving to Point Pleasant and have been sitting in bumper-to-bumper traffic for the past 25 miles, I can guarantee you that once you get to the shore there will be NO PLACE TO PARK!!!!!!, so turn around and go home NOW!! :ninja:

And if you are dumb enough to sit in bumper-to-bumper traffic and manage to find a parking lot that will squeeze in your car for the $35 parking fee, once you get to the actual beach THERE WILL BE NO PLACE TO PUT DOWN YOUR BLANKET, so turn around and go home NOW!!!

So basically, if you are thinking about going to the Jersey Shore, DON'T COME TO POINT PLEASANT !!!

Thank you ......

The same is true for Ocean Beach, MD and Virginia Beach, VA.

For Chicago

We do not all talk like the blues brothers. granted we all drive like Elwood. Do not come to our great city and mock our baseball teams. we know they suck but do not like to admit it and yet push us fans down a flight of stairs every year, so if you come here and start yelling off how much the sox and cubs suck good chance you will be disposed of properly. The beaches of lake Michigan are packed all summer long, but yet there is nobody in the water, why? because even in late July its still only 40 degrees. Yes the Chicago river is awlays green, that homeless guy on the bank is playing with himself. its your fault for wanting to take the boat tour. If going to a white sox game DO NOT GO RIGHT WHEN YOU GET OFF ON 35TH. thats a really bad neighborhood, still. if you want to get drunk and act like a assclown thats what wrigley field is for. or ride around on the "L" If you park on the street and your mirrors fold in, fold them in, otherwise you will not have that mirror when you return. we do not call our highways by I55, 90/94 I57 or whatever, they have names. learn them thats what we call them buy. for the toll roads, BRING CHANGE, 95% of them are unmanned now.

Hmm. In Colorado, if it's snowing, slow your ass down to at least the speed limit, but no less. And just cause you have a 4x4 doesn't mean you have a pilots license.

+1, except the bold part. If you want to be blasted by Journey nonstop, and see fireworks and parachuting Elvises (no, I'm not kidding), go to Telecom Conglomerate Park or whatever the heck they're calling the White Sox field now. If you want to see actual baseball and ivy, and drink Old Style instead of wine coolers, come to Wrigley.:D

I once read a Chicago rule which stated what would happen to you in in some city neighborhoods if you saw a kitchen chair sitting in the middle of a vacant parking space, and moved it. :scowl:
Oh yeah, in the winter, don't disrespect the reserved space after a person digs it out. Not good.

And for goodness' sake, people, if you get a Chicago-style dog, don't put ketchup on it. Have some taste!

first off I'm a sox fan, I like journey i like seeing things explode into a ball of fire, and dont knock elvis night. its one of my favorite nights to go to Comiskey.
COMISKEY PARK that is where the White Sox play, the sign may say something different but thats what the cornerstone says and thats what its called. and never have I seen wine coolers at Comiskey, or anyone who sells it. been to Wrigley field for a few cubs games. I've seen cubs/sox games at Comiskey. I saw the Cubs loose to the D-backs in Phoenix. the only fans I've seen that are acting like drunken morons are sporting cubby blue. there are few cub fans that don;'t fall into that stereotype.

If you disturb my kitchen chair, broom and old milk crate holding my parking spot, you will find out where Jimmy Hoffa is.
