Traben Club, Level 2.

it's Korean made, pre 2007. hanser music group (B C Rich) owns traben now, and quality has really suffered sin the last few years. The pre 2007 ones were a really great value. You got a good bass for the money. Some of the Korean ones made after that were good, but quality was hit or miss. Some were good, some weren't

Recently they moved manufacturing to vietnam and China. They are really just cheap BC Rich basses with big bridges, now. I wouldn't own a new one

really, for the musical interests that you mentioned earlier, I would suggest changing strings and enjoying it. That is really where trabens excell
Well I've decided that despite the awesomeness of this Traben, it's not for me.:( I'm going to sell it. Is anyone here interested in it?
I'm in California USA.

My tribal sun was eating through batteries like mad. I called Traben Bass company, Mark Sharp, and between he and the tech guy they felt that I may have a bad jack. They sent one to me, free, and I haven't had to change my battery since I soldered it in. It had been lasting about five days. This ones going on ten and still strong.

If you are going through batteries, I would suspect the jack. The one they sent had a little plastic cup on the inside, so the pickups were shielded from the wood. The one that was in there did not.

I have had to change my battery in my main Traben bass 3 times I think maybe 4. That's over a 3 year time span. 10 days should be acceptable either unless you are using it daily for hours on end or leaving it plugged in. I play Monday and Friday's and gig Saturday's about 1 to 2 times a month and haven't had any issues needing to change batteries often.

I suspected the jack first thing when I still had my Obsession 5-string. I pulled it and took a look at it, made sure it was soldered properly, nothing was damaged, everything seemed fine. Maybe I should have wrapped it to insulate it from the wood around it.

I don't have it anymore though.

I just picked up a Chaos core 4 string made in Korea. It's in almost mint shape except the treble pot is real scratchy and noisy. This was going to be a "GRAIL" bass for me ( I wanted one of these even before I got my Arrays). Man was I dissapointed, This bass has almost no tone what so ever. It sounds okay when your playing a fat sound with no treble and little mid range but it cant hold a note to the other Trabens that I have. I know I have to replace the treble pot but after that I'm not sure weather to go after the rockfied Pick ups or the Aguilar preamp. Any advise would be great!

What's pups and pre does it have now? Do you have any other trabens with the rockfields? I have a Chaos Obsession and its sooooo quiet. Awesome tone! But sooooo quiet. I'm sure a different preamp might help that but I'm not sure.

To bad about that treble pot though but if your in there anyway it gives you a reason to swap out pickups and a preamp.

Maybe if you don't have a traben with the rockfields, maybe somehow you can track down someone with one and give it a try.

It can still be a "grail" bass, but if its used maybe that's the issue to begin with, maybe the previous owner didn't take great care of it?
