Traben Club, Level 2.

It's sad that one has to look into the older models now to make sure you get something solid :/ I have one of the Korean models (Array Attack 4 string) and seem lucky enough, I really like it.

I don't mind BC Rich but it is annoying they've flung out the production to cheaper places.

I used to have a BC Rich warlock. It was one of the early NJ series from the late 80s or early 90s. The original owner was a friend, and I finally sold it back to him last summer
Resale Value of trabens has fallen because of the QC issues, so if you know what you are looking for, you can get a good deal on old ones

And as far as pickup height, what exactly are you looking for? On Traben Array has the traben soapbars which I haven't ever mover, but they are "high" I guess, but haven't had any issues with volume. My Original Chaos which is like a Phoenix has the soapbar and jazz style pickup without the exposed magnets I have messed with either.

But, my Chaos Obsession came with the rockfield pickups and is a very quiet bass. I took them out and put foam underneath to raise them to try to increase the output volume and it didn't do much. But if that's what you are looking for its and idea you could try.

Thanks Mooch!
I bought a plain style mouse pad and am planning on putting that under the pickups and see if that makes any difference.

You're not kidding the Chaos Obsession is quiet. No longer have my 5'er, but that thing was very quiet. Had thoughts of replacing the pickups and preamp on it, but eventually decided I wanted the money for a different bass entirely.
