hate to say this guys but i'm seriously considering letting my five string obsession go to help fund some current custom projects...
SO did you sell it? If not how much?
I have a question about the dual truss rods on the Array 5 Limited that I just purchased used. I hope I can ask it here.
I set this bass up when I got it a couple weeks ago and it plays and sounds awesome. The neck is straight and the action is nice.
That said the truss rod on the bottom of the neck is out further than the other one and feels loose. Not broken loose but just not much resistance on the nut. The other feels like a normal truss rod feels. I adjusted them slightly and evenly with the bass strung up and tuned to pitch as I have always done with set ups but the bottom rod won't hold the turn because of the string tension next to wrench... This got me wondering:
Is it possible this truss rod is stripped or even broken? How would I know?
I can still get my money back and buy a different bass if I return it. Looking for advice on this because even though the bass is set up and plays real nice now, I cannot see keeping a bass without fully functional truss rod(s) for future adjustments. Any advice?

I can't help but ask a question to you guys, I have a traben array and an esp f-4e, and i am far more comfortable with the array, for some reason, so I wanted to ask if anyone has a standard array and knows the dimensions of the neck, I'm curious about three things:
Neck profile - if you know and understand letter classifications, that works for me, measurements are fine too
Finger board radius
Fingerboard heightat nut and 12th (although I could probably do this one on my own)
I don't have the right equipment to measure these things and if anyone happens to be a luthier or just has something laying around that could help me, I would greatly appreciate it.

BTW beastly looking axes, guys hahaha. I had a JM Havoc sig 5 string but I slap as well as finger play and the pickup setup was extremely uncomfortable, so I had to sell that one. but I learned on that array I mentioned and it was definitely one of the best basses I picked up for the money.

Debating between a Chaos Core 5 and the John Moyer Signature model...I don't see any differences in the two other than the body shape...
I had traded off my Array Limited 5 a while back, and have missed it ever since. Lucked out and came across an AP-4 today for under $200, so had to snap it up. Pics as soon as I get her all cleaned up (pretty filthy and needs some electronics TLC). But she's sure got that sexy neck I missed from the Array 5, just in a slightly more manageable 4'er.
Just bought my first traben (Array Obsession) from fellow TB'er Snakeman1066 and am extremely pleased with it so far.
Man those neckthroughs are slick and sweet looking. Bet it plays great. I can set the action real low on my AP4. The Array Limited 5 I had could even be set lower. The necks on these things are just wonderful. My Havoc 5 is a little less on the low action side. Doesn't quite have that nicely leveled and even frets. Pre- v. post-Hanser differences, maybe?
found another NT Kore. Serial number T00718 was really a bit high for me, but this model is pretty hard to find, so I will live with it

I GAS'd over this a few times but couldn't justify getting it :| stunning looking bass.
Got me a couple of Trabens and I love'em! Pretty much the only basses I've been using for the last several months now.
I have an older Element that I got mint for just over $300, and also traded a Brice 6 string I hadn't used in ages for a mint 5 string Chaos a couple months ago and couldn't be happier

I bought one last week and I was really surprised!
It's a Chaos Core made 03/2008 in Korea; It has a Aguilar OBP-3 pre-amp, Grover tuners, duel truss rods and a (looks like) brass bridge plus it weights 8.8 Lbs. Nothing cheap here!
One note; "Paulonia" (Paulownia Wood) is a very light hardwood which means it's soft and thats OK with me to get a light wood, just keep in mind that this wood dings easily and is why you only see it with a hard cost finish. (Hardwood does not signify the density, Balsa is a hardwood.)
I've owned a lot of expensive basses and I was surprised at what I found here. I took this bass apart when I got it, Instead of finding foam under the pick-ups, I found springs with perches.
I also found the block under the bridge to be loose, which was easy to remedy but keep in mind that these screws go into soft wood you may want to put "2" drops of thin super glue in the screw holes, this will always swell the hole and make it virtually strip proof.
I find the tone to be MusicMan-ish and the Aguilar pre to be somewhat dark but versable.
I have only one complaint; it's the cheesy plastic covers on the battery (warped) and the electronics cover is wavy looking. I may make some wood covers (easy to do)
This is a very nice bass and I will be looking for a Array Attack.
Chaos core is going to be my next bass. I had a chaos 5 awhile ago and I loved it, but got rid of it because I'm just not a fan of 5 strings.
I figure with the addition of the aguilar pre, the core model has to be a beast.
