Put it up on a box first so you get a better earful.
Actually first order of business is drop the red 30Hz slider to the bottom and leave it there. The cab doesn't do 30Hz. 2nd is get some earplugs for playing with drums and guitars. Then the box.
I prefer Shape1 with all the mids boosted and the highs trimmed. A little low compression goes a long way.
The balance control can be flipped bassy for dubby reggae stuff and it still sounds similar with a fat as bottom.
