Trading a bass for another

A guy wants to trade me a 2001 Teal Precision Bass Deluxe (active double JazzPU and P PU kind) with Rosewood neck. It's the one with the Chrome logo. The bass is in good shape

FOR :

My 06 MM Stingray 5 H // black with maple neck. It's in good shape.

The deal includes cases but my case is beat up --- it works- it just looks bad..

The basses are basically in the same condition-- mine may be a tad better because it's 4 or 5 years newer.

Any thoughts--???? I'm interested in hearing what you guys think.-- thanks

IN MY OPINION I would take an MIA deluxe P over a stingray any day. But that's exactly and only what it is, my opinion. Value-wise they're probably pretty similar. So, not to restate what's been said, but which do you like more?

The Stingray might have a slightly higher street value, but they're pretty close in value. Assuming you won't miss the B string.

both instruments sound pretty different (and feel pretty different). you should play both and there probably will be one that you liked better. that's the one to go with.

Well the guys in my band think the 5 sounds great. I feel bad that I differ with them. It's like--"what do they know that I don't know?"

I have owned a guitar like the one I could trade for. I couldn't see the marker dots on the side of the neck when I needed to-- I know that sounds a bit lame but I stopped playing it out bcause I would end up playing A flat or sharp alot. I have heard of stick on dots so..........

Undecided in Ohio.
