Okay - Feelin' Alright is done, or most of it. I've done the intro, verse 1, chorus 1, verse 2, chorus 2, piano breakdown, the middle bit and back out into the 3rd verse. I've left the end choruses for you guys to figure out, I'd had enough by this point! It's reasonably accurate, I think. Have fun.

a while back i did a short transcription of a Jimmy Herring transcription to teach myself how to hear and play with more greater melodic direction in my bass solos.

If you don't know Jimmy Herring, he's a sick guitarist. I love learning from musicians other than bass players, so i analyzed one of his guitar solos, because he has a way of creating a strong sense of melodic direction in his solos.

in this transcription, i also included insights on what he is doing that creates such strong direction. those insights, i turned into simple concepts for you to adopt into your playing!

I've got to play Slade's "Merry Christmas Everybody" on a forthcoming gig and amzingly enough I've never played it before! Equally amazingly, I couldn't find a chart for it anywhere, only tab. So I've just written it out, pretty much as it is on the record apart from a few frilly bits here and there. I even managed to get it on one page. I'm sure this will be useful to someone out there.
