So about this new Transformers movie...

Do you think Optimus Prime will still turn into an 18 wheeler???

Seems a little dated to me...what advantage does turning into an 18 wheeler give you? why not a sweet tank...or a stealth bomber...or an awesome attack helicopter....

i'm wondering what version of megatron they're going to have...i always loved transformers, but to see a 20 foot tall robot turn into a beretta m9 or whatever little handgun he turned into fall into the hands of soundwave, the little tape recorder just makes me laugh my arse off...but you better believe i'm going to see the movie as soon as it comes out...

I am itching to see it. He does still change into a truck. Didnt have time to count the wheels ;)

Remember though Optimus changed into the battle center so was very necessary. I think they may need to update soundwave though. Cassette tapes just aint what they used to be haha

Well, here is the ALLEGED film version of Prime in robot mode:

Unfortunately... no sacriligiously, his vehicle form:

HE'S NOT A FREIGHTLINER? Blasphemy.

The fact that they can't even get Prime's vehicle mode even REMOTELY faithful to the original convinced me this movie is gonna suck golf balls through garden hoses.

Not quite blasphemy, it's based on the second generation of toys

While admittedly, it's not the look of the cartoon, it's not some random decision either

I think the movie has a shot at being good, but I'll probably wait for a good bootleg to pop up :p

I can't wait for it. Transformers was probably my favorite toy/cartoon/marketing scheme when I was a kiddo in the 80's. But I'm not so nostalgic about it that the fact that Optimus isn't exactly like the cartoon bothers me. I still have some of the cartoons on DVD if I really want 'em. I wanna see a Michael Bay explosions-and-giant-fighting-robots action popcorn flick. Which is I think what we're going to get.

And Hugo Weaving (Agent Smith, Elrond, V) is going to be the voice of megatron. Dunno why the didn't get the original guy, when they got the original guy for optimus, but it could be cool. And I think megatron is going to be a stealth fighter or something like that.
