TRB battery issues

I just took delivery of a brand new Yamaha TRB 1005J 3 days ago. I’ve been playing it since the first day and never unplugged it when I was done practicing.

Today I switched on and there’s no sound. I suspect it’s the battery. Are there know issues with TRB’s draining batteries?

All active preamps (unless they have a rare kill connection) will drain the battery if you don’t unplug them. You always need to unplug them.

It’s a good habit to get into anyway with any instrument, as tripping on a cord could send it flying.

Only if you leave them plugged in. I saw somewhere that you can install an in line mercury switch that will interrupt the battery supply when the bass is turned upright, e.g. put on a stand.
