You might as well go all the way and have a car stereo place install a jack in your truck stereo system and rock out while our waiting, get the truck dancing, boom, boom like those kids with the cars you can hear before you see them? But this time it will be a real bass.
over christmas i upgraded the stock system in my 99 sierra with budget components (pawn shop, cheap but decent on amazon). the cubby that was to replace the stock cd player (which was ny the cupholders instead of up in the dash) did not appear like it would fit (it did) so my contingency plan was to fit a plexi panel in there with a phono jack, some knobs, and a diy bass guitar preamp that would feed the aux in on the head unit, for times when i show up to rehearsal early
the thing fit and really that would be an answer looking for a problem instead of the other way around, but at least i'm not the only nutzo with a similar idea?
originally was going to play through my stereo but did some research on the subject that led me to believe it wasn't the best idea.
Something to do with the Speakers ?
It's TRUE , Country music sounds better sitting on 18 wheels...

+1 for the U Bass... I got one about 6 mos ago. It's great, but different, in a good way.
Apart from the obvious; rubber strings, and narrower fret spacing (both width and distance apart).
I have put playing the U bass into my normal practice routine. It's teaching me varied technique, as well as helping me be more fluid on my change between 4 and 5 string. - I play a 5 90%+ of the of the time...

Ibanez makes a miKro electric bass that's 28.6 inch scale. $179 new. Might find used for less.

What is the best truck for metal? And best bass to get for a metal playing truck?
I've actually seen these used for as little as $75. Too short for me, but for a truck bass, I could adapt.
I blew the speaker in my Galaxy s6 with that app. I tried it on my current phone and it distorts badly an any audible volume. Just saying'

Wouldn't call it a "problem" just a lack of personal comfort.
It played and sounded okay, and was very tempting, but I played it alongside a Gretsch Junior Jet and a Fender Mustang, and preferred the scales on those from a comfort and playability level. More comfortable for me, ymmv.

I play my ubass (21" scale length) in the car on longer trips but *driver* playing really takes this to the next level, OP (and others) and I am all in! Hadean is a well playing low cost brand with on board tuner and preamp though mine had electronics trouble and now the piezo/bridge/saddle is wonky 2 years in but it's technically acoustic so if you aren't going to amp it, it would still work in a quiet environment (It still was the best of the low cost ones due to intonation and preamp actually worked well, when it worked, Rondo honored their 1 yr warranty).
Knowing that wood glues have a melting point at 140F, anyone want to make a recommendation for a [small] electric bass that has a bolted on neck, for keeping in the vehicle? (Or I guess keep that string winder handy for tuning back up to tension each time)
I'd go with a separately powered amp - my stereo has a line in and I've needed a jump start after parking and discovering a faulty battery one hour in... more than once.

Interesting, I have not had any problems with it on my Note 8. I am sorry it did not work for you.
A Micro Bass or U Bass could be cool but those are perhaps to fragile to keep stashed in the car. A Journey bass might do, they're expensive but very durable.
