Been awhile since anyone's nudged this. I'll give it a go.
The other day, brought home a new-to-me 2015 F350 XLT. Has 230k on it, most of it from Alberta oil field work days. Plenty of service records it's entire life. Played around with FORScan and there's a couple DTCs I'll deal with over time, none of them are scary or anything to worry about.
Haven't hauled anything with it yet of course, but, driving it around has been a complete pleasure.
Today I got a bunch of LEDs to replace the bulbs on the interior and the two cargo lights. I can actually see into the bed at night time now. Have a running list of tweaks and upgrades I may consider at some point, especially if things get discounts on black friday sales or similar. Right now all it truly "needs" is a good bath and interior detail job.
I've missed having a truck, and in particular a diesel around. I grew up on farms and with large pickups, most diesel powered, so there's a lot of nostalgia there.
I did have a small bid of a rude awakening when I went to fuel up. Keep in mind my "daily" (I work from home so, not really
daily) driver is a Tesla, so outside of the occasional gas for my emergency generator, I haven't bought fuel in many years now (coming up on 8 years). So, I was a little shocked at the >$120 to fill this up. But, it'll be worth every cent of that.
