Hello,

It depends on the price. The neck looks plywood, but that doesn't mean it won't play well.

Make sure the electronics are working without issues. You can get a good used bass for a couple of hundreds, so be careful with that one.

I had an old Japanese bass with a plywood neck that was gigantic. It was a short scale baseball bat, and it was constructed like you would make a structural glu-lam beam. I don't know why they bothered with a truss rod. It was pretty nice, all things considered, and it played very well.
