Tube stack for arena rock band!

not too many people responded with specific expertise on such an articulately stated question.

^haha i know. im going with the fender 300 heads just because i enjoy the sound so much when they're all modded out, and i'll just get an svt if a fender goes down on the road.

for cabs, im thinking 2 810, 2 215, and 2 412 to stack the pyramid

edit: it's Boz's rig im looking for, i thought andy was on tour in 76 w/ bad Co.

^im sure he is, but it's the bad Co. 76 tour stack im looking for. i read it was Boz Burrell in that band.

but about the amps what do you guys think about alembic pre amps with ss mega watts power amps to blow all those speakers instead of the fender 300w? its bassically john entwistle vs boz lol

I switched to tube pres and SS power years ago.
Prefer biamped rigs when I can use 'em.

done quite a bit still. And you have more choices now in power amps and tubed preamps than back in the 70s/80s, though the Alembic is still a good one.

You will not, however, get the full-on tube experience going that way, the power tubes and OT contribute mightily to the tube amp sound, it's not just the preamp.

you can get a lot more ka-boom out of them if you mod the trannies and caps plus the pots in them aren't the best from the factory duh.

really? How do you know they aren't the best? Have you actually played the new Bassman 300?

Are you going to swap out the trannies, caps, and tubes yourself?

theyr not the best is if want CTS pots with mustard caps and an overwound tran
