Doesnt matter if you play in public or not, my brother had 4 marshal stacks with 8 4x12 cabinets and 4 100 watt channel switching heads for years, and he never played a single gig ever. He just likes to play it in his barn. But hes stupid and rich, so he can. lol.

Buy the two Trace Elliot V6's in the classified and then get 4 Berg 412's or 610's if you prefer.

That will be enough power and sound great for any stage, at any stage of your career.

Also, make sure you have the kind of health insurance that covers audiology, cause you're going to need it.

That is absolutely hilarious, I wouldn't want to play in that guy's band and from how often he gigs doesn't sound like anybody else would either.

The other band in my jam space just got another 412 to add to his other 412 and 212 stack. I just laughed. I am sure he complains at every gig that the sound guy has a poor FOH when in reality he is just drowning it out with his amp.

i usually avoid the public, and am getting back on the road after being in a famous band for a few years, but had to take time off.

You do realize that at least half of being in a (successful) band has nothing to do with musical talent or giant amplifiers, don't you?

It's about having a good attitude and being responsible and getting along with others....ya know...the same sort of stuff that keeps you out of jail (or the nuthouse).

And no, I'm not just saying stuff to pile on. Have some people very close to me who've been "diagnosed" with these sort of "mental illnesses"*. It's not fun and it's no joke. But still, you are part of a larger society and you do not get a pass for being a jerk or hurting other people just because you have a piece of paper that says "bipolar" or "ADD" or whatever.

* Most of these people have never recieved anything I'd call treatment from the system. Instead they get pigeon-hole "diagnosis" and have pills pushed on them. The ones I've seen who have managed it with some success are those who eschew the current "more pills, more pills" line of thinking and instead manage to very gradually ween themselves off that crap without killing themselves first, or at least get themselves to a spot that is fewer medications/lower dosages and just smoke a joint now and then if they're getting out of sorts. You see, there is no medicine in "mental health", they just put them on some pills, which by the way they can't stop taking or they'll become homicidal or suicidal ( nice product..."if you don't keep buying our pill, you will die:scowl: ), and then ask them if they feel better. If they say they feel better (at least in the 10 minutes they're talking to the "doctor") they'll either keep them on those pills or up the dosage. If they say they don't feel better, they'll pull them off those pills and push some other pills on them that will whack them out just as much in a different way, then next month, ask them if they feel better. No education or training needed...any one of us can do that.

You might be on the manic side of manic depression today....what happens when you get on the downside and you're looking at a 5- figure rig you can't pay for, you don't have a vehicle big enough to carry it in, and your band asked you to leave because your attitude sucks?

I saw Motorhead last year and Lemmy had two of his signature full stacks, and let me assure you, boys and girls, they were both on! I was close enough to the stage to hear them directly and (sorry profanity filter) they were mind f'ingly loud. Fortunately I brought ear plugs because there is no way I could have endured the entire show at that volume.
So, my rock god fantasy will include two Lemmy signature Marshal heads, two 4x12's and two 4x15's. That should move some air...
