I forgot the TU-2 had a buffer that isn't all that fantastic to everyone. Thought I should point that out.

I use the Planet Waves CT-04 for four reasons:

- quick and accurate enough for my needs
- Large, bright LEDs
- True-bypass
- Stylish :cool:

It's also the most compact of all the tuners I've listed, and has a Boss-like footswitch for quiet activation. Plus, it's oddly HEAVY for its size, like a dense brick!

It's perfect for bar gigs with bad audiences that could use a thrashing :D

I personally never liked the style of Korg pedals. However, they do have awesome rack tuners, so I wouldn't doubt the tuning performance of a Korg tuner pedal.

I'm biased - I think the style and LEDs of the Planet Waves tuner are better :D

It's your call. The Korg is $100 on average, the PL is $80. The Korg is more accurate and traditional in style, the PL has a larger display and a different approach to reading (which I find to be awesome).

You really can't go wrong either way, IMO.

The Planet Waves also seems a bit more accurate than the Boss. I can't comment on the Korg, as I have never used one. And as Mysticboo mentioned, the screen is nice and big and thus really easy to read. It seems to be built very strudy.

So I say, unless you get a rackmounted tuner, go for the Planet Waves! The price is pretty good too for what you get and cheaper/ extremely cheaper than the Peterson(s).

The korg pedal tuner is great, ive used one, its accurate, doesnt jump around at all, and has light up LEDs, easy to read, go for the black one, its got blue and whjite leds :hyper:

I have the DT-10 as well and would recommend it. If you check the specs you'll also see it's precision is +/- 1 cent compared to the +/- 3 cents of the Boss TU-2. Though the Stobostomp is +/- .1 cent.

I just saw the black one, looks cool. I wonder what Digitech thinks about them stealing their blue LED technology though :)

The Planet Waves is actually the least accurate of the 4 with it tuning within 3 cents and the Boss and the Korg tuning within 1 cent and the peterson tuning withing 1/10th of a cent.

When my guitarist gets a Korg DT-10 I'm going to compare it to the strobe and see how much difference there is as there is a lot of money in having a strobe sat on your board. But I do seem to recall it being more accurate than a Korg DTR2000 I had and yes I used them both at the same time on a gig.

I have had a Boss TU-2 and my movement on tuners has been like this.

Boss TU-2 sold and bought Korg DTR 2000 Rack tuner which was more accurate, then sold the DTR2000 once I had the Strobe O Stomp as that was more accurate.

Maybe you don't need to be that intune, I find I do :D

I have a Korg DT-7 that is quite accurate and easy to use. It can also be used on the Buzz Feiten tuning system. It may not be as accurate of the Strobostomp, but it costs less than half. It's more than suffiently accurate for stage work.

Actually, the Boss TU-2 is accurate to +/- 3 cents as well. The Korg is the only one I've found to be accurate enough (+/- 1 cent) without shelling out for a Peterson. I own a DT-10 and couldn't be happier. Good luck.

I've had the Stobopick from www.strobotron.com that Planet Waves ripped off for a long time and it works quite well. I have one for bass and guitar and I particularly like it for acoustic guitar. It is more accurate than an electronic tuner becasue you can tune on your sustain rather than your pick attack which is what tuners sample and is always just slightly sharp. I haven't tried the PW one, but I like the Stobopick, even if it doesn't look as nice. :)

Strobotron's website says they are out of stock. Their tuner looks like an electronics project kit.
The local GC has only guitar tuners. The online links from the PlanetWaves site, GC, Sam Ash, MF, don't list the bass tuner.
I ordered one direct. It should ship directly from D'Addario.
