Tuners tuners tuners

Is there an ordinary tuner that's more precise than the Boss TU-12? without counting strobe tuners and expensive rackmount units

I had ones of those Boss pedal tuners several years ago that was stolen and I wasn't impressed with its accuracy.

The TU-12 is a bit of a pain to use because of the needle, but it seemed accurate enough to me when I owned one. There are better choices in terms of operation, though.

A list of popular and stage-worthy accurate tuner pedals:

Boss TU-2
Planet Waves CT-04 (I own this one!)
Korg DT-10
Peterson Strobostomp

The first three pedals are usually under $100, and are comparably accurate. The Peterson Strobostomp is close to $200, but is touted for its high accuracy.

...unnecessarily high for a stage pedal, IMHO. :hmm:

I've been looking at this one, as I already have a Korg rack tuner. How's the accuracy? Easy to read?

while i don't own one of these, i do want one.

i tried the DT10 out at work for a while (before we stopped carrying them :(... though i can still order one :)) and it worked very well! very responsive and accurate, and easiest to read out of all of them, in my opinion. it's a little bigger than the TU2, but it's not crazy huge or anything.

My brother in law has a Planet Waves, and while it works great, it was a bit hard for me to read. The letters just didn't look right :hmm:

I have both the Korg rack tuner as well as a DT-10. Ditto jetpack's comment. It is accurate, easy to read, and very durable. I use my regularly.
