I mixed a 9 piece disco band this weekend. They had just purchased IP2000v2's. They asked if they could put them behind them. I said I wouldn't but we tried one behind them due to the room. The band had a 3 piece horn section and they complained it was to loud for them. I have to admit it was loud but sounded good. We dragged it out to the in front of the mike line. Gig went fine. I didn't even bring any extra subs.

I did a sound gig last night and mixed Beatles Tribute Band. I used all 4 x ip2000's without any extra subs. Bass went direct with no stage amp. I really really liked the sound using 4 of these outside. This video is less than a minute.

Very nice clear sound, so looks like 2 of them where on stage behind the band? Did you also use monitors?

They were in pairs on the lawn on very heavy plywood. Sound was great and I found a really nice plate reverb to go with the Beatles sound.

Sounds nice. Does TS recommend that side by side configuration ? On many systems that would introduce some weirdity as you walk the sound field due to phasing. A pair of conventional 12 and horn boxes side by side can sound really nasty in spots.

they have no recommendations about anything. I have done this 3 times now with no issues

Yeah, the jangle was definitely being represented. Super clear vocals, as always is the case with column arrays.

Yesterday I did a country band in Walpole MA. 90 heat. I almost passed out a few times. Anyway I got a short video of them. Again you will see 4 of them in pairs. I don't notice any real shifting when I walk around. I also borugh a pair of small 12" EV powered subs and stacked them in the middle. Overall the whole system and 7 wedges plys two large cable boxes, mere and folding table fit in my Grand Caravan. They claimed there were 5000 people. I don;t know but could be Presidential math if you get my drift.

Finally the wireless mike the female singer used had it's gain in overdrive. I fixed it after the first set.

Column arrays are just the way to go for a gigging band. When you switch to them, its seems like your band just 30% better.

I have a carvin array with 2x10 sub. I soon hope to upgrade to two powered columns containing 20 drivers each, and let the drummer supply his own subs. Can't wait.

I found a music store in Missouri that has two I’m buying them tomorrow. Really looking forward to using these! Plan to pick up a couple 12” subs for bigger events but I’m thinkin two ip2000s should do for my rock trio in bars, restaurants, hotels, etc..
