I just added another mini bass rig to my arsenal for my smaller gigs. Surprisingly, both of them put out a lot of volume and both sound very nice punching way above their diminutive size. I already had the Streamliner 900/210 Eminence 2510 cab ( & have two of those cabs) but just added the Ampeg PF-500 & 210AV. The 210AV is tiny (even smaller than my Eminence cab!).
i think that either one will actually easily be able to handle my medium sizes gigs without any PA support.
anyways, here's a pic of them side by side:

I’m wondering if the two amps are in-phase with one another? As you know, it can be a problem if using them together if out-of-phase. I saw a buffer/splitter pedal that can change the phase. A nice feature to have.

It would be good if all amps were in-phase. Mic pres have phase switches for good reason.

I played a pair of those 210AV cabs for years, and a single cab for quieter gigs. They sound great!

My 210AV sounds nice, until I A/B to my Genzler and Mesa cabs. It sounds less spacial and detailed in comparison.

What's your key to getting the best performance from one? It has a great form factor for grab and go!

Hmm... that's an interesting use case for a phase pedal. I've been tinkering with one for double bass that sums multiple inputs, but it would probably be pretty simple to do the reverse. I used to have a schematic for something that did exactly that but I don't remember where I put it. I agree that phase can have a profound impact.

210AV’s do not cut it at all. Even with two they can’t keep up with a moderately hard hitting drummer. But, many other 2x10” cabs are plenty loud enough, but not the 210AV.

Interesting. I’ve played easily a few hundred gigs with my pair and they handle everything from Jazz to Modern Country in bars to big stages. Never ever had an issue with volume!

I've been using the 210AV as an extension to the RB115 at many gigs lately. I play Smooth Jazz / Swing - 60's - 70's Rock Motown. The combo works very well!
