TWO new Marcus Miller budget signature model basses!

So, I've read all these reviews about this bass and I can't make up my mind, the MM V7 or Geddy Lee Jazz bass? What do you guys say? And I have a question can you change the pickguard on the V7 with a fender's pickguard?
Personally, I'd go with the V7. I seriously doubt the pickguards are interchangeable, but I don't know for certain. There are enough places that will make whatever pickguard you want for not too much $ - I've been happy with Tony at pickguardian.

For me it's the Sire. Way back I owned one of the very early GL basses and even though it was nice I moved it along fairly quickly. I feel the V7 has a great passive tone plus you have the ability to go active with a powerful EQ. The price is quite nice too. Just my .02.

Here in Europe you could get 2 Sire basses for the price of a new MIM Geddy Lee. I'd get a a 4 & 5 string Sire. Maybe get an alder and ash for tonal difference. :)
Don't think the pickguard will fit but print one of those and see if it fits:

Oh that's a great link, thank you. Now about the price, yeah I know, I'm actually thinking of buying the 4 string version and save money for 2-3 pedals that I want.

SIRE MARCUS MILLER FRETLESS?!?!

This just in from Mickey at Sire:

Some of our customers have suggested us to create fretless basses. So we are considering producing them by preorder.

Fretless bass in regular production is difficult due to very limited demand. Therefore, if we get more than 20 pre-orders, we can start producing them.

So we are opening for fretless bass order from today until July 21. We will start the production when we receive more than 20 orders, and the shipping will start by the end of August. But if the order doesn’t reach 20, sorry folks, we’ll have to pass.

If anyone interested, please provide basic information below and email to us.

Requested Model (E.g. V7 4string Natural) :

Please note that there will be extra $70 charge from the regular price.

Wassup groove family??!! This is Jackie Clark...I've been away for a couple years..sorry! Haha! I'm currently an artist with Sire and let me just say this...the bass would be $1500-2000 if it were a Fender!

They don't pay me anything to say that...I have pics posted on my Facebook page showing inside the control cavity, pickups etc...I had my tech test the output of the pickups and he was completely sold on the instrument just as I am.I'll try and post those pics/video clips here!

Cool Jackie! There is also a Sire bass club here you might want to post in as well. Welcome back.

Happy NBD, the M3 has landed! The outer box took a beating, but was stuffed with plastic air cushion bags, inner box and bass OK. Very very impressive quality, it is beautiful! On the downside, ordering from thomann, no gig bag (ok with that), but not even a brochure or user's manual - just a bass in a box. And the 9v batteries were dead. So wait, now, what? What do all these knobs do again?? :)

Contrary to others' experiences with V7s, the both the action and relief on this came higher than my tastes, but like everyone else, setting up to preference is, well, preference. No way around it.

The active and passive volumes are so well balanced that I have to plug into the passive jack on the amp and turn up a bit to tell. :)

This thing is fine. Got the action lowered, actually have to lower the pickups a bit, they're pulling on the strings, very powerful and sensitive. I have too many favorite basses, but this is very high on the list. :bassist::thumbsup:
congratulations bro. Could you do a youtube video please? thanks very much
