Happy NBD, the M3 has landed! The outer box took a beating, but was stuffed with plastic air cushion bags, inner box and bass OK. Very very impressive quality, it is beautiful! On the downside, ordering from thomann, no gig bag (ok with that), but not even a brochure or user's manual - just a bass in a box. And the 9v batteries were dead. So wait, now, what? What do all these knobs do again??
Contrary to others' experiences with V7s, the both the action and relief on this came higher than my tastes, but like everyone else, setting up to preference is, well, preference. No way around it.
The active and passive volumes are so well balanced that I have to plug into the passive jack on the amp and turn up a bit to tell.
This thing is
fine. Got the action lowered, actually have to lower the pickups a bit, they're pulling on the strings, very powerful and sensitive. I have too many favorite basses, but this is very high on the list.
