TWO new Marcus Miller budget signature model basses!

Just a quick update. I only have 2 complaints about my Sire, one is the flat pups make it impossible to get truly even string to string balance, which I'll have to live with, and while I love standard J bass style knobs THIS bass deserves something a little more special. So I created a set of white pearl tops using knobs from various mfrs' knobs. Unfortunately, the only ones I remember the source for are the tops on the stacked ones which are Q-Parts minis, and I STILL don't understand why you can't buy a set of stacked white Pearl topped knobs!

Anyways, here it is next to my SX Andromeda:

I used the QParts minis as well, both as single knobs and concentric tops - they're a little tall for the latter, I agree, it would be really nice if they made an actual concentric set with a slightly shorter top knob. I've emailed them asking, perhaps if enough folks ask? Finding bottoms to fit was only slightly tricky - the stock bottom on the M3 worked fine, for the V7, I ended up using bottoms from EMG concentric sets (someone on ebay was dumping extra EMG bottom knobs), worked out nicely.

Woo hoo! Got home late last night, my alder V7 5 string was waiting.
So i quickly unboxed it... took it out of the nice gig bag. After looking it over, I'm very pleased with fit and finish, ran my hand up and down the neck, no fret sprout. Action felt good as is ( not a big fan of XL strings). Went to my practice tuned up and plugged into my amp..I'm in jazz bass heaven. I couldn't crank it up because it was after 11 pm, but i played it for about 30 minutes, the bass eq is VERY powerful, loved the passive tone also. Any way all the positive feed back is on point. Pics tommorow.
I can't wait to take it on my gig tomorrow :bassist:
That's awesome dude ! I am looking forward to receiving mine after some careful research/study and negotiations...lol Gotta give another shout out to Mickey Cho at Sire for making this happen !

Two hours ago, in Singapore, yours truly got his V7, a one month old used, from his fellow countryman, at a sweet price of USD410.
Its the same V7 bass in his local store he eyed for before it dissapeared previously.
So previous owner needed to let this go, posted in the local forum....and now yours truly is the happiest man in the world

Left handed Sire basses now available!!!

For those who inquired.

Left handed Sire basses are now available for pre-sale. Sire has a limited quantity of each model and they will be shipped from the factory in the beginning of July and mostly likely will get to the Sire warehouse (in the US) by around July 10th.

That sounds about right I don't see a $400 to $600 price range but if that is the price range they won't be able to make them fast enough.
That is about the price range 499.00 (4 string) 599.00 (5 string). And you're right, they can't
keep them in stock. So will they still meet demand and maintain the same quality or will they sacrifice the build quality
for quantity to keep up with demand? All I know is they are getting raving reviews.

I'm with you I just hope they relax and keep the coarse all it takes is a few bad batches and it could be a difficult road.

Guys!....Does Anybody knows if a hipshot 1/2" ultralite (Usa or Licensed) tuner will fit into the holes of the V7????, I want to put a set of ultralites to lose some weight on the 5 strings Alder....:ninja::ninja:
You're asking about the shaft holes or the mounting screw holes? I'm fairly sure the screw holes will be a mismatch, since the stock tuners are the big plates with 4 screws, and the hipshot ultralights are no plate, 1 screw. I'll take a string off and measure the shaft unless someone already has...

I'm actually not good in mesuarements..but I think it would fit:thumbsup:...and as I saw an offer of an used set of Licensed Ultralites tuners from a Lakland (3+2), I would like to know if anyone has ever reversed a LICENSED hipshot Ultralite,.....saw a Thread here in TB from a guy who says that he made the change...

I reversed my Hipshot Licensed tuners. Pictures! | TalkBass.com

Can't see the pictures anymore :crying:.....Anyone???:help:

So, I've read all these reviews about this bass and I can't make up my mind, the MM V7 or Geddy Lee Jazz bass? What do you guys say? And I have a question can you change the pickguard on the V7 with a fender's pickguard?
