Standard Powerhouse 1000 - good balanced bass tones.
Don Bronco Evo 115 Neo - a bit huskier tone than above.
REA One - very transparent cabinet.
That Don Bronco 15 is my go to for dirt.

Although I recently picked up a fractal FM3 so my opus is unfortunately collecting some dust. I switched because I wanted an all in one FX option for my signal chain. That being said the OPUS is a much more plug and play solution. The Fractal has a high learning curve.

I'll have to check the DB15 with dirt; the Fridge is also good with overdriven tones!

I've heard good things about the FM3 - if I used more effects and had the money, I would audition one.

I had a Capo for a while and I was blown away by how much difference the built-in LPF makes for distorted tones without any cabsim.
The JFA Capo is on my 'lustlist'.

Yeah, I understand why some bassists want that pingy-zingy high freq thing going on, but I have no need for anything over 4k Hz.

I finally got a chance to speak with my "go to guy" before he went to L.V. on Saturday. He is back in on Thursday and we're figuring how to squeeze the second OPUS, a SA HUB and the Nemesis ADT into the mix to finish up the transformation on the board.

*SA UltraWave Bass (wet/dry)
One Control Crimson Red Bass Preamp (dry)
Boss MO-2 Multi Overtones (dry)
*SA C4 Synth (wet)
*SA Nemesis ADT ("Freeze") (wet/dry)
**OPUS #1 (wet)
**OPUS #2 (dry)

SA HUB(*)
SA SOLEMAN(* & **)
SA Dual Expression Pedal (Soleman/ADT)

My cart has:

Don Broco EVO 115 ($7.00) on SALE
Trace Elliot 1818 ($7.00) on SALE

(I also have had my good guy at D'Addario tighten me up with a set of XL singles for the Piccolo Bass tuning...!)

I just bought the Standard Powerhouse 2x12.

After listening to everything again with nothing added just Custom EQ with everything flat except the HPF set to 31Hz and LPF set to 16kHz and then just trying different mics [ @Ross Davies it's probably a big ask in stuff that's already done, but at some point, it would be great to have the Dyn 57 available with each Cab model - that would make comparing cabs and getting consistent Presets created a WHOLE lot easier. ],
I liked some of the other cabs, but with my bass guitar and current string set, I keep coming back to Mesa cabs (close call between the Powerhouse models and the Subway, but I seem to prefer the Powerhouse models).

That Subway 15 is a monster with some of those mics - I just thought for what I like, it is just a bit over-the-top in the lower registers.
It could be EQ'ed to work really well, I just prefer to keep EQ'ing down to a minimum, at least most of the time.

I'll probably post a few new Presets using the Powerhouse 2x12 cab in the next few days.

Thanks for getting in touch - regarding a degree of standardisation between cabs, sadly this is an impossible feat - simply due to the nature of our capture process - when you purchase a DynIR, you are actually getting mic, preamp and cab captures from a recording session in a studio we have selected - a lot of users actually think we use modelling for our mic models, but they are in fact captures of the cabinet using a specific mic in a myriad of positions around a cabinet - this then has to be actioned for each mic you see in the drop down list (a long process I am sure you can see!). As such, going back to the studio, placing the cab in the exact same position and recreating all desk positions is practically impossible from our side. Nonetheless, for future bass captures, I have added this as a user request! :)

I can definitely see the method madness in getting at least one static mic in the bunch when doing something like you discribe. Even if other mics could be superior for various reasons. 👍🏼

No worries at all. The process is indeed a complicated one and I have been on a fair few sessions now - the results are definitely worth the process though IMHO!

Daunting with a capital 'D' for sure!

Thank you for running that up the request line!

Well...there has been a change in plans for the board and OPUS #2 joining #1 on the signal chain. 😲

It's true, there has been some juggling going on in my gourd, it happens sometimes...OPUS, CanvasStereo OR the Source Audio ZIO Bass?

I have decided that ZIO Bass will be the end of my dry signal chain. The wet duties will remain with the undefeated world heavyweight champion...

OPUS MAXIMUS! 🗡️🛡️

(Just to share; I won a pedal from SA on Friday connected to the Nuero Editor 3 UI "SoundCheck" feature where you can listen to pedals with clips in real-time. Random drawing from 4K comments, on each days pedal released presets over 14 days, with a pedal-a-day give-a-way.) (ZIO Bass was not in the pedal promotion as it is all analog.)

I think that this makes the most sense...YMMV 🙃

I gave a serious look at the Zio in my shopping for a tone machine, before deciding on the Opus.

It seems like a very nice unit - Congrats!

In the end, at this point, having an option for an all analog signal path without a Cab Sim (IR) is a benefit.

I've owned ZIO Bass over time in the journey. I would not make the same choice if it were the only one. That would absolutely be the OPUS. In fact, I went from ZIO Bass to the C.A.B. M+ then to OPUS.

I 100% agree here on the non-cab sim signal path - I actually use the Line Out Routing Mode to send a dry feed from my OPUS which usually gets used as a blend source when using more gainy tones!
