External power supplies have a hard time playing nice with Two Notes products. The only people that I've personally heard of having issues with their Two Notes products, all were using something other than the original power supply. Switching to the stock power supply also solved all of their problems, as well :thumbsup:

Recently I discovered Cold Fusion for my self. It's awesome! Very punchy and aggressive sound. But be careful with fusion knob. It can make your sound muddy with huge amount of buzz.

Seems like a lot of expertise in this group so I would like to ask for some advice. I just ordered a Le Bass and I plan on using it to drive a Crown XLS 1502. The Crown offers a choice of input sensitivity, either .775v or 1.4 v. Can anyone tell me which is the most compatible with the Le Bass? I have looked at the manual and they don't give output info in volts and I don't know how to interpret the info they provide. Thanks!

You can always just email Two Notes. They are very responsive.

I did try that. Got a reply that said it would drive my amp but they did not answer my question about which sensitivity would be best to use. Hoping to hear from someone here about if they were successful using the Le Bass to drive a power amp that was 1.4v.

Nope. The inputs are Line Level.

Also this is from the manual -
"The INPUT SENSITIVITY feature enables the playback from sources with inherently low output levels to drive the amplifier to full power by selecting ".775 - HIGH." It is
recommended that this remain set at the default NORMAL setting for all other audio sources to provide optimal system performance. The HIGH setting is often used with
source devices that use RCA connections"

I've never tried the AOU as I tend to lean more toward an "old school" tone. But in my humble opinion, the Le Bass soundly trounced the Darkglass Vintage Ultra.

For me, the LeBass is always on to get the foundation set with a nice tube depth and warmth. I typically use relatively moderate gain levels on both channels with Cold Fusion engaged.

I then use various combinations of the VMTU, B7KU, AO or VT Bass DI to tailor/colour the tone to taste and to varying degrees of grit/growl. It works really well for me.

An expensive board setup combination but it gives endless tonal options to cover a wide variety of playing styles and genres.

Take heart mine never did, only thing I had to do was separate the board from the metal bass plate to stop a small error.
There will be way more success stories than Bad stories, that I can guarantee.

I am like you running 2 power heavy pedals off the Cioks DC5 - forced me into having quality, not quantity

just got mine. Have a channel A sound with just a bit of the tube breakup and it just sounds so organic and beautiful. I have a TC spark mini booster in front of it and all i have to do is step on it and get as much extra gain as i want...the spark mini sounded like crap honestly in front of my class D amp but in front of the le bass? come onnn sounds so good

Having trouble getting a cold fusion tone that sounds organic and doesn't get muddy when playing fast notes. dont get me wrong every tone sounds good but i want a cold fusion tone with some sparkle and a lot of clarity and i cant find it. Anyone have good settings?

edit: well i found the settings im looking for xD

The wall of sound cab/power amp modelling software is pretty nifty too. probably owns for recording.


what I was looking for was actually the hot fusion mode.
it seems in general the hot fusion gives you the more sparkly modern metal darkglassy sound while the cold fusion is more vintage and boomier

anyone notice a general hissing when you have the treble control on the a channel up like past 12? I think it's audible with the bass volume off or on

probably normal but I was just confirming. its not that loud and is worth the trade off for the warmth of the sound
