Was talking to some guitarist the other day and it made me chuckle when he said that John Frusciante is the source of the creativity in the RHCP.

Just seems like a typical guitarist thing to say. Completely ignore the other members of the band and just focus on the guitar player. Don't get me wrong though, John Frusciante is a great guitarist and does come up with lots of their material but Flea also comes up with much of it too. If Flea wasn't in that band they would have far fewer good songs and many songs that wouldn't be the same.

Anyway was just posting to see any other typical things that you've heard guitarists say.

i was talking to my guitarist about a new amp. and i said i was going to get 250 watts. and he said "why does *bass* need that much power"

he might as have said "its not like anyone wants to hear bass anyway"

*edit we are just a jam band we dont gig or anything. because i know 250 is nothing for alot of people on this forum*

Guitarists are always telling me "why are you so picky about your sound, nobody hears bass anyway, bass isnt important" :rollno:

Little do they know, bass makes a heavy song heavy, a mellow song mellow, a funk song funk and a hillbilly song hillbilly :p

Thankfully i have found a new band where the guitarist fully appreciates my whining for a good bass osund

while that may be true... the beatles wrote the same song over and over and no1 complained...

Ive heard Elvis ripped of plenty of artists, but i dont care to care...

In music... imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, deal with it.

Actually, according to flea in bass player magazine, John and Flea co-write a lot of the songs. One of them will come in with a cool part and they will start jaming along to it until they come up with some neat parts and then Flea and John will have a little "Face off" in wich each will go in seperate rooms and try to write the rest of the song and then they pick the one that sounds best.

As i have said before get into a heavy bass/guitar jam with them and right in the middle on the jam quit playing and just stand there...when they whip around and look and you just smile and say i quit playing ...nobody can hear me anyhow.:D
