I asked about that. Apparently, they dropped the logo, but not the Super Ferrite goodness.
Certainly not $80. It's mahogany and 1 1/2" nut. $149 including hsc. I had it sent straight to MNAirhead for a set-up. According to him, except for needing a new instrument jack, everything else is sound. Can't wait to try her out!

I got my T-20 in today and I'm very, very impressed. It's a little more beat than I was expecting, as it was definitely played and played a lot. This thing has an amazing sound!
This one was made in 1983 and has seen a lot of use. There is some pretty serious buckle rash on the back and the back of the neck is worn and dinged up pretty good. Finish is worn in a few places and plenty of little dings. Overall, however, it's sound and complete (sans truss rod cover).
I love this thing. It's got some earned character, a nice vintage look, and some serious mojo! This is going to get a lot more use from me.

Great basses! I miss the two I had.
Pickguard looks warped like crazy, and obviously the weird replaement knob, but seeing as how these things go for 150ish mint, could be a good deal.
Neck condition would be a dealbreaker, if that things too dorked up it might not be worth it

Pickguards are usually warped on early 80s Peavey.
I believe one can probably use heat and a press to flatten it somewhat.
As for the knob, true, the 80s style Peavey logo knob is gone but I see some on the Bay once in a while, usually from parted out T-40s (!!! don't get me started with these !!!)
Yes, if the neck is warped, it will kill the deal, but how warped?

I have a feeling I can even take a few $ out if I get the acoustic.
I am actually looking for one as well, and he's asking $40 for it, I can probably offer $100 and get both.

It's a first revision Patriot.. it's what replaced a T-20.. feel quite a bit better to play.
This would have had rubber band speed knobs (or stove knobs -- your choice).

I'd value it at $90-110.. They fetch $150 if they're in good shape.. $225 if they have a contour case.
I've yet to find a Patriot that couldn't be straightened up.
This model is starting to gain some popularity as they're being set up correctly and are commonly less gigged than a Foundation.

I traded one of these to Kevin (talkbasser) with a TL6.. the TL6 came back the patriot stayed (on the next trade)... he loves it that much... he claims he can get a Chirs Squire or Geddy tone out of it..
Personal opinion.. you could put this up against any of my fenders and win (after it's setup correctly)

It's missing the truss cover - I can send you a template to make one.
Black is the easiest body color to blend in imperfections.

For playability and sound.. Scott just received one from this part of the tundra.. he should be able to give an honest opinion of the value, feel and/or sound.
May be a nice gig bass for you.. or better yet.. leave it at your practice space and save some precious hours.

Yes would have one peavey only rubber band speed knobs. Standard All parts can be put on without affecting it negatively.

When you go to see it, check the pickguard by the jack. They tend to crack and then break there leaving the jack unsecure. Aftermarket replacement pick guards are available for $35 to $40.

No crack on the pickguard. I bought it for $70.
The neck is in awesome shape.
The body is scratched, badly in the back, belt buckle probably. The pots are sticky.
The pickguard is all warped up but I would like to try fixing it first.
Anybody has experience with unwarping PGs?

Late to the party but am really happy with my Dyna 5'er
As primarily a 4 string player I find this 5 to be like a dream. Nice and light and sleek. Probably a lot of guys wouldn't dig the close bridge spacing but it feels perfect to me!
