what i was figuring by:

92 saw the drop of the pinstripe around the headstock
and
95 saw the super ferrites get replaced with the EMG looking soapbars

mine was a '93 ... and looked dead on like his. more curious than anything.

Wow. That's a record. Particularly considering this went for half that price a couple weeks ago.

Case.... yes the lined ones are this in demand. Anyone that has had a degraded foam case would pay it.

I've NEVER had a latch or hinge failure on one of these... even after dropping from several stories above.

Fur lined were options for colored and burst basses.

Has anyone ever heard of a signature model? I'd guess it would be from the mid to early 90s.


I recently saw an interview with him. He was playing a TNT and a bass that he said was made for him. Looked like a Sarzo snake eye. It had other writing on the headstock.

A always find it funny that people will say what they bought an item for years ago and assume its worth what they payed now. Of course that will work at times but its still funny.

Yeah, it seems to have super ferrites too... Might be somewhat of a rarity.

+2. It is really hard to tell if the pickups are super ferrite or the newer type in those pictures.

How much should I offer just for the bass? Based on the pickups of course.

I'd offer $175.. if it is a foundation, it's kind of a resale dog as TLs, Dynas and Milleinum are under $500

That is a good price for a GV. They often sell for $600 with a hard case.

When I asked Peavey support, thay said my 1993 Peavey Foundation 5 came with Super Ferrites.
