Good to see Ken Achard's T-40 surfaced again.

Ken was a well known face in the UK's music retail scene so the ideal candidate for heading Peavey's overseas operation.
Starting in 1973 ,Peavey UK opened the door to Europe which in turn spearheaded growth to the rest of the world.

It was that growth that allowed Peavey to become an international presence instead of just an American company

HP had a wee gift knocked up for Ken as a thank you. With Ken being both a bass player and English it was only fitting that said bass bear the s/n 007

Sold on eBay 40 minutes back for £1021.

Yeah, I saw that fretless for $599. It's no where in the description, so I have a feeling a less informed / in a hurry to get it bought buyer may overlook that and be disappointed.

What's going on in the US , does nobody intonate basses properly ? I keep seeing Peavey photos with brife saddles in a neat row instead of adjusted for speaking length

There was some mention of "minerals" , no idea if that meant a finish process or the tree grew in contaminated soil.

Good luck. I think you're going to need it . It looks like a scam to me. Looks like they find random classified ad's, slap a fake, stupid low price on them, take your money and maybe an empty box will arrive on your porch a few weeks later.

I saw a keyboard on the same site for a ridiculously good price (<$50), free shipping too. Full size 88-keys, so shipping would definitely cost more than the selling price. Hard pass.

There is a rare G bass on Reverb. Seller says it has a neck made by Modulus. I sent him a message and told him the neck was made by Bell and Carlson. Perhaps he will alter his listing. Or he may cheerfully ignore the truth.

Sadly, if it's too good to be true... $56 for a T40 ? You might as well take a $50 bill and burn it or roll a doobie with it. Yeah, I know, "doobie" makes me sound old. I also saw "The Kominski Method".
