Those are really nice. EXACTLY like the ones I have on my #1 Cirrus w/ Milli pre, so I have the stacked knobs for the mids. They look and feel so good and they are nearly weightless.

Nice! The Sonorlite is such next level. I always wanted a set of those. The catch is when I finally had the income to buy one, they appreciated waaaay more than I could justify!
Scandi Birch 3000? I used to have a metallic green F3K snare and 22" BD.
It's rather shocking how well made these Poplar F2K drums are. I have a bunch of them, all yellow.
(I also have a large set of Pearl Masters in Emerald Mist and a bunch of Rogers XP8 in Midnight Mist).

You have a nice collection. I had and think I still may have (lol) a F2000 snare in black wrap. Very loud and punchy and used it as my main wood snare for a number of years. My F3k is in the Celluloid Turkis wrap, Scandinavian birch shells, 13/16/22 with matching snare. The Sonorlite birch also but in the BMW blue laquer 20/14/12. You can tell I like birch drums. Various other snares my favorite being an old Ludwig Acrolite. I also have a Swinger beech project kit that will probably never be finished...lol.

I have an incredibly long post history on the old Sonormuseum message board (from around 2001-2012 or so). Sonor is my nerd level, obsessive drum company, followed closely by the Rogers XP8 series.
BTW, Acros rule!

I haven't used that exact model, but plenty of other, older CS models in the past. Also used some of the PV series amps (mainly the 8.5C and 4C). They all did the job they were supposed to do: clean and linear.

The crown is a great head and it can be drive by my tone hammer pedal and a lot of other devices very easily and in fact we use it for a little bit as a home theatre amp
into a emotiva dac

I find the cs has an overall more warmth and more of a low mid
Very apparent with the GV tuned ADGCF

and I’m hearing a lot of growl down there

with the XLS
I definitely hear more of a high mid and high clarity/edge to it

not bad just different. But I think it sooner be choosing the xls for tone

Just snagged this sunburst body off ebay to replace my crayola red one on my 91 foundation. I think it’s of similar vintage, so I’m pretty sure the back cover on mine will fit. If not, it’s not the end of the world to make another one. Only a few small chips on the edges, easy enough to black out again. Considering doing a string through body conversion with a new bridge, but not sure.

Hey y'all, just discovered this club. Picked up a 199X Fury last year and have finally gotten around to upgrading it. Swapping locks, knobs, and tuners over to gold, and am ordering some LaBella gold flats to put it all together. I'm looking through this thread, but does anyone have recs for tuning machines? Trying to choose between Hipshot HB1s and Schaller BMs but am fretting (heh) over the fitment.
