“Slow progress” happened a little faster than I thought… still no string through, but got the bridge mounted, electronics installed (far neater than the job I did when I was 16 lol). I think I’ll also do a fret level when I get all the tools/supplies for the string through conversion. So happy with the results already.

Why do so many people like pink basses?

I think it's a stretch to say that lots of people like pink basses. If you set out to buy a bass, and it being pink was important to you, you'd have pretty slim pickings. I bought mine (Peavey called it Raspberry Pearl) because it was a US Peavey for $170 with a hardshell case and an amp. I will say, I get more comments on it than any other bass I own. Also, I'm pretty contrary by nature, so the fact that other people might not like it makes me like it even more!

It's funny. I have never wanted a pink instrument, but as of the last year, I would like a Pink (Raspberry Pearl) Foundy and a Cherry Ice Ibanez Proline. Plus, with my green instruments, I can take pictures of them together for a period correct, "Preppy Handbook" color combo.

I think your English Racing Green Peavey Forum PJ looks fantastic.

I think Bleeker shares your interest in a Raspberry Pearl Foundy and I think a couple of of other fellas here said they would like one of the pinky Peaveys.
There is a guy on the Talkbass Yamaha Attitude thread who has a whole collection of pink basses, his name on Talkbass is Jaymi if I remember correctly.
He has a number of Youtube videos reviewing various Yamaha Attitude basses.

I think if I put the right pickguard on this magenta Attitude it might look okay.
I also pulled the original pickups and have a set of EMG Geezer PJ's coming.

I am almost finished with this 1996 Peavey B-Quad 5.
I've been looking for a B-Quad (or a cirrus bolt on 4) for the past 2 years, truth to be told I wanted the 4... For the past 20something years I played exclusively 4 strings so now I have this B that feels like a very expensive thumbrest...

Now, the previous owner probably didn't like the fact that you have to release set screws to adjust intonation, so he simply didn't. The result is that I have now 5 wiggly intonation screws. Does anyone know what those are?
I suspect philips machine screws 4-40 1" long, but I am not entirely sure, and I don't wanna risk crossthreading those saddles... The bridge was probably made in UK and then modified by Rick Turner for the piezo.

IIRC the B Quad has a Wilkinson bridge.

Yes, I thought the base of operation of Wilkinson before licensing the parts to other manufacturers was UK, maybe not.

It's been a while since I've played my old trusty Forum. Man, I don't think there's a better 5 string neck made.

A few years ago, my wife gave me permission to any bass - cost no object. I visited the Atlanta Bass Gallery, Low End Bass Shop, and every music store that carried anything quality. I tried so many boutique basses. But, I never upgraded. Why? Because I simply could not find a better bass than my Forum V.

That is a very cool thing to bubble up to the surface. Ross Valory's T40 era was short, but high profile. It's cool, that bass was cherry picked for the high profile players, and it shows with that birdseye neck and nicely grained body.

Probably because it suits him better than anything else he's played. I feel that way about my GVs. That's one of the reasons I have five of them. I've played and owned much more expensive basses. The GV just works best for me

I have (3) USA Peavey basses. A 85 Foundation, a ‘87 dyna, and a ‘99 Cirrus. What they all have in common is excellent fret-work and smooth edges on the neck. It makes me think Peavey had a machine to take care of those things or someone responsible for QC’ing those edges. Much better consistency than my other production basses that I won’t name. Although I have seen good edge work on some MIA and MIM basses it was hit or miss.

I feel the same way about the Millennium 5. (I own two) Once you find something that the ergonomics fits you perfectly it's hard to feel comfortable with anything else.
