That was the one where the whole neck and headstock is maple painted black, then clear coated, a 1993 or 1994 I think.
Excellent work. I'm brewing up some more G Bass blasphemy, which will be on display here at some point pretty soon.
I don't think I'll refinish this one. It'll get a carbon fiber pickguard and a P in standard position with a reverse P in the bridge position. Each pup will have it's own output. The body is coming today!
Said "Goodbye" to this one today - donated to a Middle School Band program, where I'm told it will get plenty of use. It's a hybrid - the body came with a maple neck that had been defretted by a previous owner, and the neck came with a body that had been damaged (Paul Simonon/London Calling cover style). Got the two joined up into one nice player and one super-project (that I'll probably never finish). Both were '92's, serial numbers not all that far apart, but I don't think the Black with rosewood board was an option. I also gave them my TK065, so there's some great Peavey tones ready to happen.

Two preamps, into a Crown Micro Tech 600 (stereo power amp), which will power two Eden D210XLT cabs. I just received the second cab, and the Crown should be coming later this week.

From my 1983. … looks as if all of the black paint was removed from the one pictured above

Thanks. I have a bunch of knobs, just never seen them with out any black at all. If not factory, someone sure did a thorough job removing all the black...hmmm.
Most of it is bomb proof. Some are quirky designs as some are intended for permanent installs (panel mount) vs gigging. Some was sold under the Architectural Acoustics branding.
The USA microphones will compare very easily to my stuff that costs a ton more.
