U.S. Peavey Club

NBD! My Peavey Forum arrived. 1st impressions were it's really pretty light and the body seems thinner than a Fender P. The paint is sinking into the wood grain. It's in better than expected condition. 1 ding that doesn't go through the finish and 1 little spot that does. The rosewood is dark and beautiful.
I think someone actually put new strings on it too.

The red paint is actually quite thin at least where it's nicked. Overall I would call it excellent for its age, 28 years old. It's in better shape than alot of the stuff hanging on the wall in Guitar Center.

Playing it plays quite well, low action no buzzing no sharp fret ends and the frets are smooth/polished.
It sounds really good through my Hartke 500 HD.
It has Seymour Duncan Steve Harris P pickup and a Seymour Duncan J pickup which is some kind of a hb in all likelihood, it's dead quiet and has a fair amount of punch to it.
With the tone rolled about 1/2 way down the P pickup sounds like a P bass but gets a little aggressive sounding over half way up. Easy to work with and works really with the J pickup.

Never had a US Peavey and I gotta say this is really cool! And for its price? 299.00 this can't be beat!
Put another name on the headstock and this would probably be over 1,200.00 bucks.

Howdy y'all?

Here's an update on the gold Fury I bought some time back... Now it's a Furydation.
The neck had truss rod issues. My tech couldn't seem to get the board off, it was splintering and would've trashed it....his theory as to what's going on with it...he thinks after he tightens it and after a day the end slips a bit and the relief (to much) comes back...
I bought the foundation neck along with a Pat neck off reverb a while back...and it's paid off. I had the neck plate added, I think they're cool. I really like how thorough the bill is, I'm lucky to have found this guy, he does awesome work.
This is a great playing bass now, I'm really happy with it.

Cheers!

That looks beyond killer. The neck on my blue fury that I had in high school had similar issues, and I eventually replaced it with a foundation neck too.
