Ok guys. Here is my Patriot. Just snagged it from Reverb last week for a killer deal. Came with OHSC too, which I didn't bother picturing.

This does NOT help with my indecision on pickup config for my G Bass project.

I'm still leaning towards P neck/Reverse P bridge. I've already got these pups, a Nordstrand NP4 and a handwound that a friend made for me that is in one of my Wishbases.

I'm pretty certain these pickups will pair well, especially since they'll have independent outputs.

Well, I've always had this image in my head for a long time of a Millennium 5, birdseye neck, and a natural/oil/hand rubbed type finish on the body. Thought about tearing one of my two Millys apart - but couldn't bring myself to do it. I'm no luthier, but I'm handy with tools, build a lot of stuff, and love a new project. Been keeping an eye out for pieces for a project for some time - and Amber Harbor (the peavey lady) put a Milly 5 body and some necks on Ebay - I had to go for it. So now I have a gorgeous looking unfinished Milly 5 neck and a partially finished Milly 5 body on the way. Plan is to strip the body down all the way to bare wood and put a nice oil finish on it. The body has a cosmetic issue it looks like between the flame maple top and the alder back - will have to get creative to clean this up a bit. I'm sure I will bring it to a local luthier to assist with fret leveling, etc - but hoping I can do some of the less technical work myself. Electronics - I'd really like to go passive with it - maybe will be filling an extra body hole or two lol.

Does anyone have any tips/tricks/advice/what out for THIS type of info they can throw my way? I'm banking that I didn't just buy some pretty firewood.....

It's a little hard to see - is it five holes? Or five holes with a side jack?

The normal passive setup is V/V/T (or V/B/T), but there are other/additional passive components that can be grafted onto that - a low cut knob for the bridge pickup (helps minimize the mid-scoop - think Rickenbacker), a series/parallel switch, a Wilde Q-Filter, etc.

Hi Guys, I just wanted to ask maybe someone knows....
My TL-6 (2nd Gen.) - The preamp is distorting even at low gain. Battery is newish, Doesn't seem to be that. BUT, the Mid control pot seems to be a bit wonky with volume jumps happening when jiggled. Can this have anything to do with the pre distorting? Anyone know what pot type I can get to replace it?

The link leads to a page with limited information. The latest serial number starts with 07 for 1995. My Cirrus 5 has a serial number with 5114 . . . I looked it up on the Peavey Serial Lookup page and it says my bass was made 1995 or after. Neither shows where it was made. I am convinced it is a USA without the stamp or engraving but with the stickers on the back of both the battery and control covers. However, the person I am trying to convince doesn't believe me because of all the conflicting information. I know there are other ways of identifying USA Cirri such as the ABM bridge but he is not convinced as bridges can be changed.

USA Cirri never had USA written anywhere but the stickers on the electronics cover. I am not sure what else can we do apart from showing that there was never a non-usa made cirrus with the same features of the usa made ones...
EDIT: Can we see the bass so we can chime in and determine if it is usa made or not?
