Thank you. Did they keep the same neck profile? I only ask because I'm in the market for as early a one I can get. If so, just the nut and the front to back. Thanks!
I think they did stay close to the same but maybe varied a bit year to year.
I believe my 1987 Foundation (sold) and 1987 Fury are/were the same neck dimensions.
I think my 1987 patriot is also the same as the other '87's but I will check it.
The 1992 Foundation neck I have here is slightly different form the '87 necks here.
1992 Foundation neck:
Nut width 1.4895
Depth at 1st fret .7895
Depth at 7th fret .9165
Depth at 12th fret .9640
Width at 12th fret 2.1645
1987 Fury neck:
Nut width 1.4915
Depth at 1st fret .7920
Depth at 7th fret .9320
Depth at 12th fret .9870
Width at 12th fret 2.1275
These are all wood dimensions without frets being part of the measurements.
They are both all maple, no rosewood.
For all intents and purposes, mine all feel the same, the only real difference is my 1992 Gen 3 Fury does not have the fretboard edges rolled as nicely as the rest of the Peaveys here.
I think the really different early Peavey necks were the T40, T45, T20 and Gen 1 Fury all with a wider nut. Not sure how some of the Patriots got a wide neck and some got the same neck as the Fury/Foundation necks here. My 1987 Patriot neck is really very similar to the Furys and Foundations I have.
My Peavey necks are all 1987-1992.
The Gen 1 Fury you have has the Peavey neck size/shape I have not had, but one I would like to have.
