Will post pics tonight or tomorrow. Funny, I was looking at it earlier this evening and was thinking the same thing about going all black, as the gold is tarnished and frankly just looks a bit too "pretty."

Will probably eBay the body, bridge, pups, and harness as one "put a neck on it and play" unit. The older Foundie body is about 1/3 of the way thru a refin and I'm shielding the Fury while waiting on the pg.

I'll post pics and ask for a number when they're both all done.

I just swapped out the covers, I love cream covers, especially on a bass this color. The black was just plain out of place.

Thanks for the compliment. I'm hoping to add a T-45 at some point and have a complete T family!

I've never played a Patriot but I have to think they'd be pretty similar. What I can tell you is that I was pleasantly surprised at how bright and punchy the T20 sounded when I had the treble all the way up. IMHO It has more clarity than a typical one pickup P type bass.
I'm pretty sure most, if not all, of the hardware was the same and the pickup was the same until they switched from the Super Ferrite to a traditional P pickup and I have no clue when that happened.

They sound very different. The pickups are very different. The T-20's pickup is massive, with the bulk of it hidden under the guard, And of course it's also positioned at an angle.

Not surprisingly, the T-20 has a much beefier sound than the Patriot. Quite a contrast, really.

Interesting... the patriot I played years ago had a single super ferrite and I presumed that pickup hadn't changed much from generation to generation.

I was currious about the mounting angle, how much affect that had on tone.

@kjpollo - That would be a great collection and with the whole Made in America trend maybe it'll actually appreciate over time!

Patriots and Foundations seem to be readily available these days... I haven't seen as many Dynas but it doesn't sound like they're rare.

I'd like to find a T-40 and T-20 locally to try out.

Its not a huge huge difference, but the T-20 Super Ferrite (also was in the early Furies before they switched to a P-bass pickup) has much larger magnets underneath, and is slightly larger overall, resulting in more output and more lows/low mids (in my experience) than the patriot, while the patriot is more of a mid machine.

Still trying to figure out how I can sneak the T-20 pickup into the Patriot...
