First time poster to U.S. Peavey Club. After cycling through lots of various brands and types over the years I found that I was playing my Fury models more than any of the others, so filled in the different generations. 1982 T-20, 1984 Fury, 1988, 1989, 1992. I’m not all the way back reading through the thread yet, but will be interested to see if any have ever been posted. Love them all but probably play the ‘88 Fury the most (my first).

Really nice group of basses there.

I think '87 and '88 were the most consistently great necks.

Good to know. I love the feel of my 88 neck, and the overall weight balance as well. Just fits me. Thanks for all the details you’ve posted on working on Peaveys over the years. Very informative to me!

Thanks! Not sure I intended to have so many of same general type, though all seem pretty unique to me. I personally think they are an amazing value (but try not to say it very loudly).

I think if anybody wants a Fury, having a Gen 1 and a Gen 2 is a good way to go.
The Gen 1 will fill in for any Precision but the sound is different enough that I see it as another class of P bass.
I feel like a 51P Bass, a split P Bass, and a Gen 1 Fury are the three must have P basses.
After I got my Gen 1 Fury, it was easy to let go of the T20 because the Fury is that perfect leaner meaner P type thing.

Here's the rub, it's not just bass guitars but PA equip, guitars, amps, keyboard, etc. I have four older Peavey basses in addition to a couple others, and unfortunately don't have room for it all.

We're getting ready to move and therefore downsizing as well, it's SO hard to decide what stays and what goes.

I'm parting ways with my 1987 mint sunburst Foundation. My 1990 black Foundation has already flown the coop. Keeping my two Fury's.

Finally found all my components for operation cirrus blackout, I think it turned out really slick. Schaller roller bridge, vintage gotoh tuners, Dunlop strap locks, and sadowsky knobs. I also plugged the two holes leftover from a previous thumb rest, not the prettiest job but when’s the last time you saw plugged holes that were lol.

That's a pretty sweet collection! I've loved all of my Peaveys!

These days I’m all but married to nickel or steel rotos, but I do agree black strings would look nice
