I have a question about USA Cirrus tuners. I believe they are Schallers. Is there a version of the Cirrus that comes from the factory with a drop tuner on the E string? I don't recall seeing one but may aged mind might be faulty. If not, does anyone know if one is available from Hipshot and have you successfully converted it?

I'm looking at a 4 string at the moment. I know another option is to get a 5 but I'm so used to 4's and at this point used to playing with a drop tuner.

Not sure I'd mess with that disc, as long as it's working right ATM. Assuming you're just injecting glue into the crack, then clamping it, why take chances.

Wanna know how to turn a $125 (incl shipping) neck heating treatment into a $360 repair job? lol

The last neck I sent them was even older and there was no surcharge.

I’d probably try getting a tool under it where that indent is right near it. Pry it out?

Drill a hole with a flat tipped bit, don't go into the wood.
Take a tap and tap threads, and then thread a bolt in there... and again (obviously) don't go into the wood.
Grab the bolt with a pair of pliers and pull the bolt with the disc.
Lots of work to pull the disc out but that might maybe work.

Was looking over my basses this evening and wanted to throw some love at one I got for the least amount of cash. $60. I have since modified it a lot, with the idea of improving looks and function, but still looking like a classic.

I have installed a 5 ply black/cream/black/cream/black pickguard, nice machined bridge, EMG geezer pickup, 330k pots, flat top knobs, fully shielded, and a Hipshot extender on the E string. I have played a lot of really nice precision basses. This one is still my favorite I've ever played. It's also only 7.5lbs. the neck is great. Like a worn in pair of jeans. And I love the look of black and maple.

One of the great basses that is overlooked in the Peavey USA made basses is the passive P/J Forum made for two years. I own one and it is everything the Fender Hot Rod Precision wishes it was. The J pickup is even a side by side humbucker so there is no hum. Mine plays like butter and sounds fantastic. There is one the same color as mine on GC's used site right now.

I love my Peavey Foundation.

Such a great bass I immediately fell in love with after taking it off the wall at a local store.

The super fast neck, and the Super Ferrite pickups—wow. Super indeed!

It’s a 1991 according to the serial number—it looks it with the mix of features. The old style 80s pinstripe headstock, as well as the Super Ferrite pups—mixed with the rubber ring speed knobs (as opposed to the die cast P knobs) and the more Fender-esque bridge in place of the original Foundation bridge. It also has a bar-style string tree instead of the Peavey triangle.
