I just got a 93 or 94 Fury on ebay a month ago for $96 shipped to me. It needed a new tone pot but other than that and the normal wear and tear, it is in pretty good shape.

BTW, T 40 players, can you tell me what strings you use and why? When I had my first T 40 I changed the strings once, then I put the stock strings back on. All I can remember is the put them on and take them immediately off pair was the coated rortosounds...didn't like them.
I just received the T 40, the exact twin of the one I owned in 1982! It has tapewound strings that are so short the D string slips on the post. And since I would have put new strings on it anyway I am interested in what brands, string gauges model # etc you use and why..
I have a notion to go with Chromes or even half rounds as I think I want to capture some of the zing (rick like tones) one can grab out of a T 40.
BTW, pics on the way so I can jump into the T 40 club and the US Peavey club.
Sweet!! I Played the Foundation that i bought New in 1987 it has seen some gigs and Great Stages good thing it cant Speak, i played it Untill 2003 when i went to a 5er
That's about the price I had been seeing them at a couple of years ago, then all of the sudden, they went up to like $350. That's nuts. Probably all the positive feedback we're giving the USA Peaveys here on TB.

Check the picture on this bass, it looks like a Fury body with a Foundation neck.
Here is a photo of my T40 from the seller....
It looks as good as it does in the photo! Some minor buckle indents on the back and a funky finish bubble from the pickguard and some minor pick marks on the guard is all I can find that is a "flaw". And the only real age related stuff would be some very slight bubbling of the chrome on the saddles. I tell you this thing looks like it is 2 years old!
All it needs are some new strings as the tapewounds on the bass are cut waaaay too short and the d string pops loose when it feels like it and it needs a good setup.
Can I get a US Peavey Club number please?

$305.00 plus 49.00 shipping. That was for the bass and the original HSC which is also in great shape. The case shows more of its age than the bass does...
I snapped this one up after searching for it for over 5 years. I have seen 2 other red T40's in that time. One was in average condition at best with no case and one was for sale at Ederly Instruments and they wanted 450 or so for it.
BTW, I ordered a set of chromes to put on it. If I still wonder I will try some half rounds or nickle rounds in that order. But I suspect that the chromes wil stay....can't teach an old dog a new trick I guess..I love chromes.

My third Foundation. I had two others in the past, never did seem to think that they sounded as good as everyone said and promptly sold them. I bought a T20 at a pawn shop and then understood the hype about the Super Ferrite sound.
I saw this Foundation on Ebay and said "What the heck, maybe third times the charm". I had never seen one in salmon color before. It showed up yesterday. Green corrosion on the frets, the stiffest flatwounds I have ever felt, Grundge and muck from the OHC foam sticking to it. It hummed and buzzed like crazy. Deoxit and 800 grit took care of the buzz and hum. WD40 should remove the muck. New strings and a Q&D (quick and dirty) setup made it very playable.
I think I will be keeping this one!!

I saw that one up there a few times, I was tempted, but the color just wasn't for me =D Glad it's on its way to a good home!
Looks like I'll be buying this Peavey Foundation (with super ferrite pups) next week for $100!
I don't think I've seen one of the later model Foundations in sunburst. Usually it's the early/mid 80's models. Nice looking bass.
So, this is a late model Foundation? What year do you think? The headstock is different than the others that I've seen.
