U.S. Peavey Club

So, this is a late model Foundation? What year do you think? The headstock is different than the others that I've seen.

Late 92, early 93. Early in 92 they had the Foundation script logo, by mid 93 they had gone to a larger headstock and transition pickups(same shape as Superferrites, but with only Peavey written on covers)and by late 94 they had the VFL style pickups with the larger headstock.

Looks like I'll be buying this Peavey Foundation (with super ferrite pups) next week for $100!

Unless there is some hidden problem with that bass, that is a super hot deal. Great looking bass, too.

Found this nice little '94 Fury on CL last night and the guy happened to be 10 minutes away from my work so I stopped by and picked it up (with a nicer padded gig bag) for $60 (less than I spent on filling up my truck with gas this morning!) The guy said that's what he paid for it at a garage sale last fall, so I didn't feel too bad about getting such a bargain.

Anyhow, it's got the painted neck (painted as in fingerboard and all) that they offered late in the Fury run which I wasn't too excited about but for the price, wow (and actually, the painted fret board doesn't bother me as much as I thought it would). Funny thing is I just bought another '94 Fury a month ago for $95 in much worse shape than this one. So, now I have two. And this one needs no work, I plugged it in when I got home and it is in great shape.

...$60 makes GAS so much nicer!

w00t! :hyper: I already have my number, I just wanted to reiterate how much I like my Fury. Go Team Peavey!

The T-40 and millennium...(& RD Artist)

This is my favorite color for a T-40. If and when I get my own T-40, I want it to look EXACTLY like this one. I'm jealous, my friend.

That's about the price I had been seeing them at a couple of years ago, then all of the sudden, they went up to like $350. That's nuts. Probably all the positive feedback we're giving the USA Peaveys here on TB.

I am always worried about prices on the used market skyrocketing because word has gotten out. I almost don't want to recommend these basses to people because it's cheaper when it's a secret. I'm still blown away by how much you get for how little when you buy a used MIA Peavey... these basses SHOULD cost three to four times what they do so dummy up, you lot. ;)

I bought a Peavey just like that, but in bad shape
for $60.

It fixed up nicely,

Its taken me a while to finally get around to getting the pictures of my '89 Fretless Foundation Sunburst and earning my number in this wicked thread. I picked it up for $180 in October and sometimes wish it wasn't fretless because I dont play it as much, but then again it adds uniqueness to the bass :bassist:

I was thinking of doing the blackout thing myself! Did you paint your hardware or just replace the original stuff?

Hay Neal,

The only thing I painted was the string tree.
I just never found one.

I already had a B&G Passive F pickup that I
installed. That helped.

I got some black Mighty Mite Tuners. They
are kind of cheap, but they stay in tune.
They were $32 on eBay.

I got a heavy black brass bridge that was
$23 off eBay.

Black knobs $20 off eBay

Black screws $6 music store.

Black strap buttons $10 at GC.

I spent about $90 fixing her up.

From this,

You can see the B&G pup has no exposed
pole pieces, which is kind of cool,
