It was an auction sniper, I didn't have a chance to increase my bid.

I'll be honest though I'm not too beat up over it. I've already got an 86 Dyna, so I think I'll find something else to throw a Kahler on. Maybe a mij precision or a T40 or something.

A Dyna is less expensive than both of those other options. You can buy Dyna basses all day in the $200 range. Just buy one and throw a Kahler on it.

I know that, I was just thinking the Dyna would be a good cheap path in that I'm already familiar with maintaining and repairing. I figure if the cheap route is out might as well go with the sort of sound and feel I really want.

Before auction sniper, I used to wait by the computer with a stopwatch in my hand, waiting for the last 5 seconds of an auction. It was an effective strategy, but a big pain in the ass. Now I set it and forget it. Which is pretty great except for things like setting a sniper bid on a Kawasaki ZX-14 and then later changing your mind but forgetting that you put a sniper bid on it.

A Cirrus neck is wider than a Jazz neck, but slimmer than a Precision. Though it sounds like a cross between the two, the Cirrus neck doesn't feel anything like a P or J neck.



$700 for that bolt-on US Cirrus is high, based on the current market. You can commonly pick up a bolt-on Cirrus between $500-$600. Value wise, you couldn't touch a bass of that quality for $700, new or used.

It's hard to see, but it looks like it has Hipshot tuners, and the Millennium preamp (stacked knobs) are 2 indicators it's a US. I too thought only the imports had the single bridges, but I guess not.
