Here's the back of my Peavey Dyna. It's the bolt-on version, and many of these were built before the Dyna-Unity was introduced. The small toggle switch (on the front of the bass) is an A/B switch for selecting either active, or passive.
So, if the battery dies during a gig while using active mode, flip the toggle and keep playing. The battery is housed under the single panel in back, and it lasts so long-that access should never be considered an issue!
I have a 5 string Dyna in the same color. It is a '91. I also have an'87 in a dark metallic silver. Great basses.
Another Blue 5 string Dyna owner, great!![]()

I've never seen a USA Grind. Not even for sale on line.
Nice. And right across the bridge from where I'm living right now! I might have to go look at it when I'm home (in a couple of weeks).
There's actually several nice Peaveys on GC Used. At least 4 US Furys, some Dynas (Unity and not). 2 TL-Fives. 1 TL-Six. 2 US Millenniums. A Foundation S. Looks like market prices on Peaveys is trending up, too. Yaay!![]()
I'm in the DC area right and keep feeling a tug to go try out the TL-Six up in Rockville. But, with an $800 price tag, the tug is pretty well counterbalanced by the Cirrus 6 I have at home. Heck, I didn't pay that much for the Cirrus!
Back in 2004 I played two of them in a music store in Nashville. Very nice. They had the 5 string and the 4 string. I too have the brochure of them,(got it at the music store). I see every once in a great while one come up for sale on GC used site. They usually mistake it for a BXP.
Guess I need to start checking Guitar Center more often!
Since you have the catalog, you can see the difference between US and the bxp. Sometimes its hard to see, but the big difference is the the bottom of the neck on the US (the part that goes into the body) is angled and the bxp is straight.
Not crazy at all. The Dyna is my favorite and my favorite Dyna is my Unity factory fretless. Im in the hunt for all I can find.

I have looked at these a few times online when they pop-up on ebay and GC but have never played one. What do you think of them???? Also, at what price point would you say is to high for one in near mint or excellent condition. Thanks for the advice in advance.
