Are the pickups on the Cirrus internally active? If so, you should get active blending with them. That's the thing I like the most about my Millennium. A normal passive pickups/active preamp setup will give you neck, bridge, and both pickups, but not a true blend. Active/active gives you a full range of blend.
Some preamps are designed with buffers to allow balanced blending from passive pickups. I have a Bartolini TBIBT in a box (some day I'll install it in something) which does this.
Audere preamps are made this way, which is why they interested me so much! I'm totally stoked to find that the pickups/preamp in my Millennium Plus 4 allow for active blending.

You're going to see it: Just as I witnessed the end of buying a Rickie for underr $500, we're now going to see the Peaveys go up in price. Sorry to say it, but this is the nature of this beast. Grab that T-40, Dyna, Fury. Dig it and be glad, 'cause this party's going to end.
I feel it's true. I think that they will settle in somewhere in the very functional, well-built, made in USA range. They won't skyrocket in value, they just won't be such a freakin' bargain anymore. I bought all but one of mine new...and still felt that they were a bargain. I am thinning out my herd somewhat and I am no longer-after 27 years-exclusively Peavey. I'm keeping four. And I have decided to pass my excellent deal/Musician's Friend (mistake?) Millenium Plus on to some starving, poor, local player that could really use a great axe-but can't afford one.

You mean that passing on the bargain is a mistake- or having done the deal with MF? Either way, I think it's a fine move. A little sharing of the "wealth" so to speak is diametrically in opposition to the forces that make simple, good things so hard for so many to enjoy. Any personal business move in opposition to this kind of ethic gets full moral support from my corner!

Just won her on Ebay Thursday, new "Quarter-pound" pickups installed today. It was interesting to find that the stock (maybe) pickups had a copper foil wrap with ground leads soldered to them.. think they're peavey?
I have a solid, nice playing/sounding P-bass for under $200 invested! Can't beat that. Now it's rig time... currently playing out of a Peavey head (chopped from a combo) and a 70's(?) "acoustic" bass bin.

I think he's refering to the blowout deals of the USA Millenniums by MF as possibly a pricing mistake by them?

I can't help but think that this guy just got done beating his grandmother over the head with it. (see lady slumped over in chair in photo). hmmm... put a huge dent in my bass when I whacked grandma with it..... guess I'd better get rid of the evidence by selling it on ebay!

Well, I feel that MF must have not known exactly what they had when they sold brand new USA Millennium Plus JJs-with factory hard case-for $374-delivered! Some of the folks that I 'know' at Peavey were outraged because they would have snapped them up themselves before MF ever got ahold of them, had they known what was about to happen with the basses.
I was originally going to sell it for a 'very good' price, but the more I thought about it, there are a lot of musicians around here that simply don't have access to an instrument of this caliber...so I have decided to pass my good fortune on.
When I first started playing bass, I was similarly 'looked out for' when I was sold a two year old 1970 Fender Precision with thin (Jazz) neck and OE hard case for $175. And then there was the pristine 1963 Strat for $110...
Anyway, sometimes it's more than about money...I feel really good about this...
