Here's the same curve found in my Frost Blue Dyna Bass five string, (not a Dyna Unity).
No battery door, either. The 9v is housed under the control cover.
It was offered in color finishes-not natural like the Dyna Unity.

I went to guitar center last night and played a bunch of different basses just to get my hands on some of the basses I keep looking at on the internet. Not a single one felt as good as my '94 Fury.

Granted some if them had some poor setups and I prefer my chromes over the nickel wounds all the basses had so that may have something to do with it.

So gas has been satisfied for a while as I didn't find anything that I loved.

I know I routinely stop by GC and play several basses. And I'm always able to find something that doesn't compare to my 99 cirrus 5(my number 1 bass) and the fit and finish on all my other Anerican peavy's is superior to most everything I play.

PEAVEY T40 NECK NEEDED!

I just scored a natural-finish '82 Peavey T40 in a pawn shop. Great price, body in good shape, all electronics work, sounds great, has OHSC, but the neck is warped, action is WAY too high, and the truss rod is either broken or the nut fell off. It easily moves side-to-side but provides NO adjustment.

I am anxious to play her now, so if anyone has a good T40 neck they can spare, I would happily pay full market value for one in good condition.

When I had my Fury ('92 IIRC), I used Chromes. Was exactly what it should be- a P with flats. I usually prefer fairly low action on most of my basses, but raising the action felt right on this one. Allowed me to dig in a little more.

I don't have a Fury, but I am using flats on my Peavey T20, T20FL and Patriot.

These are basically the forerunners of the Fury. They all have the Super-Ferrite pickup. I particularly like how this pickup sounds with Fender 9050ML SS flats. Ain't nothin' quite so nice as a single pickup bass with flats! IMHO, of course. ;)

Currently have a Patriot with Chromes. It's my go-to P-bass, ATM.

Yeah, that Patriot really is nice, isn't it? NicJim, do you have the mahogany version? There's just something about that mahogany body. I have heard that body wood isn't the be-all, end-all when it comes to tone, but for some reason that Patriot just seems to shine, even compared to the grander looking Northern Ash T20s!

Thanks for the replies guys. I currently have the action set very low as the bass was primarily used for recording. I would like to raise it some but I will definitely wait until I get the flats on as I expect the string tension to be higher. Maybe (in a perfect world) I can get away with the current setup and just tweak string heights a bit.

I'm a big EB string fan on my basses but use DAddario on most of my guitars. I may go with bassfreakah's suggestion since he currently has them on two Fury's.
Any others?

The slanted Super-Ferrite pickup with the built-in thumbrest was Peavey's best invention since CNC-machined T40 & T60s! Go GET that Fury before it gets away!

Wait.....did you say "ASH BODY"? Oh, just out of casual interest, where are you located? Got a link to the AD???!!!! Not that I would try and snag it out from under you or anything....

Just kidding. If it were in Texas, I wouldn't be! Get it NOW.

Nope. Mine is just the garden variety.... alder maybe? After playing my Cirrus 5 quilt top and my Thunderbird, I think I like mahogany the best out of all the tone woods. Would love to try a Patriot in mahog.
