kodiak, you sure got me beat with these old Peaveys! I haven't ventured much outside of the "T"-series. I do have two Patriots and am looking for just ONE slant-pup Fury (NATURAL finish only, if anyone's got one for sale!). Maybe I'll have to start looking at the Foundations a little closer. Anyways, NICE collection!

A wee question ? There's a fella on the Peavey Bass FB page just got what looks like an Axecelerator body with a Patriot neck. Does that ring any bells ?

I think that's a Peavey Forum bass with a different pickguard.
As always, I could be 100% wrong...just a guess.

I think yours has already been modded with the Millennium preamp since it has the mid/mid shift....but that's a good thing.
They are amazing. I recently acquired a Cirrus 4 string and have it strung BEAD.

I think you are right.. but since that is also a Peavey Pre right.. ? So it is a mod but it is still all Peavey...

So, I'm finally getting back around to my double p Fury and Chi Sonic Forum project with the break from grad school and the holiday festivities being mostly done. I ordered some stuff today, and did a lot more window shopping. I'm having a hard time settling on new black tuners that won't cost as much as the rest of my parts combined. I thought I would check with you fine people to see if anyone had some older black Peavey hardware they weren't using. I'll probably shoot Peavey an email to see if they still have any sets on hand that are the Grover Titan or wavy style. I'd like to move away from the clover shape, but I don't like the look of the thin Y shaped ones. And, what are the most predominant options...? (Sigh) I'd love to stick with whatever US Peavey was using back then. My Peavey's hold tune better than any other bass I've used for extended periods (Yamaha, Fender, Aria, Ric). My experience isn't extensive, but there's a lot to be said for a bass being less than a half step off after sitting in a case for months or after repeatedly shifting temperatures (house, venues, sitting in the car overnight in the winter or summer).

Hey - just received my first US Peavey today. Millennium 5 - pretty high serial number so I think it must be a late 1995. It has the radiused pups that I believe are the single coil VFL's if I've done my research right. Had a loose input jack, 3 minute fix . Anyways - it does not have a truss rod cavity or cover - and the top,of the truss rod sure looks like an Allen head. Everything I've read on us peaveys says 5/16 hex head for the truss rod. Anyone ever see this before? I did not touch the truss rod, because once I warmed the bass up and tuned it up (shipped slack stringed) the neck was straight. And I mean straight! The bass plays great. I've only run it direct into my little practice mixer to play along with some tunes on YouTube - but I can tell this is going to be a great sounding bass! Considerably more attitude than my Ibby SR500. First US Peavey, first five string - I can see where the addiction comes from! I will be hunting down more . Only issue with the bass is that it's white, not a usual color I like. But it's growing on me!

Nothing unusual about the truss rod there.I've 2 later Foundations,a G-Bass and a Forum that all use Allen keys.The size you want is 4mm.
It's a better system than the old one,for a start on some Peaveys I've had to take tuners and string trees off to get access or the nut is
buried deep and the key don't reach.None of those occur with the newer TR.

Heck the Indonesian Peaveys went one better and had an adjustment TR wheel like EBMM,now that's a great system.

Thanks for the info - I was actually pretty happy to see it - definite design improvement. Hardware on this bass seems to be very high quality - I know the later Foundations get a knock for cheaper hardware than the earlier ones - but there is definitely nothing wrong with the mechanicals on this bass - very solid all around. One knob has a squeak in it, I have to take it off the pot shaft and see what's up.

Has anyone ever compared the placement of the pups on the VFL Foundation to a MM setup? The front pickup looks like it might be close to the MM 'sweet spot' - but I don't have a MM to measure...

Well the year has started good & bad. The bad is the Patriot neck has bowed again A friend thought his tone pot was playing up so I grabbed mine .....
Present condition is unplayable,some pretty drastic work needed when I get set up in the new place.

The good: Well I'm playing the Resolite often,really like the shallow neck and no complaints about how little it weighs. GAS took a serious hit yesterday
it will get typed just "gas" for the rest of the year A Sarzo turned up in Germany last night and early this morning I agreed on a price for a Cirrus.
Been an expensive 18 hours I can tell you Photos when the goodies get here.

Then we have this,my final purchase of 2015. 91 black & maple Foundation.A great fella down in London got in touch Christmas Eve saying the neck was
too thin,he plays a Hayman 40 40 so I can understand.This has to be my last Foundation

Yep, the Resolite was a score. The fellow that used to run the Peavey plant at Corby had one for sale a while back. Is yours that one? Probably the only one in Europe.

The history on it is kind of patchy. It sold at Guitar Auctions UK in 2012 just making the reserve,think it sold again on eBay.
Next appearance that I see is in the seller's shop,he also listed it twice on eBay to my knowledge.

The Peavey Guitars book says 4 were built. 2 for US,2 for Europe.Now my black one is pictured in the book as is a white model,I remember a while
back you saying there was a red one with a hipshot in the US.Wonder what the 4th one was ? No reply yet from Peavey for info on it.

Sarzo shipped this morning and I transfer the Cirrus funds in the morning. Plenty Peavey happening here next week

Oh there's a fella in Turin,Italy looking to sell a 84 Candy Apple red Fury via Peavey Bass FB page. I know Italy is expensive but his asking price is

I am a long time Peavey bass owner and player. Currently I have a Black T-40 with an All Parts neck, White DynaFive that was the factory prototype, sunburst Fouldation FL, grey TL-6 and the prize a Red Verdine White signature (rebranded Rudy Sarzo).

With my usual terrible photography skills I failed yet again to capture the beauty of the Sarzo. I'm trying this software called GIMP and ain't worked out saving in Jpeg or
re-sizing so the lousy pictures are huge hence the thumbnails (click em)



60 hours after ordering this arrived from Germany which is amazing as the store was closed for the first 8 hours of that. First impression was fantastic,the whole bass just felt
right. 8" radius fit my hand perfect,hangs from the strap like it's part of me. I really can't believe it's near 25 year old,that slight wear at the cavity cover is sum total of wear.

I'm bald as a coot so no I won't be joining a Whitesnake tribute band
