Most of the solid color ones I've had my hands on have been lighter than the ash naturals. Peavey moved away from using ash for the solid color bodies when they ran out of ash bodies that had bad grain mis-match that couldn't couldn't pass QA and were stored. I'm hoping this is one of the lighter ones. I also play TL-5s and they aren't lightweight. Most of my gigs are at restaurant bars and I sit on a stool. At my age I only stand for under 2 hour gigs or if I'm making real money.

You're hoping? You bought it without asking the weight? That's pretty daring!
That makes much more sense, somebody had the 9 rolled to an 8 before their morning coffee kicked in.
I like the ivory color too, it's darker than the camera flash makes it look in this pic...nice creme ivory.
I got a new pickguard from the parts ladies at Peavey (warped original) and the body color under it is bright white.
I also added black pickguard screws so the single layer guard is black-black.
Fretboard has almost no sign of wear and the neck finish front and back is great also, I would guess it did not get played much, but it obviously did not sit in a case hidden from UV rays!
Somebody locally has a black body T-40 for sale but the hardware does not look nearly as nice as yours does...nice find you got there.

mech, that's the first reverse neck I've seen, but it's something I've wanted to do for a long time. That being said, if anyone has a lefty neck from a 90's model they want to swap for a righty so we can both have reverse necks, I'd be game. Especially if rosewood is involved.
Poor pic of my (new to me) T-40, black and rosewood. It's changed a bit since I received it Wednesday. We'll be headed out for a blues gig in a few hours.Phase switch is now a three position....neck SC, both SC, both HB.

.625" average at the bridge and .350" at the nut (1.750"). String margin isn't great and looks worse on the G in the pic than it is but it's definitely playable. It will be tweaked.
Recently ordered a tortoise pick guard,for the April 1982 T20, I just traded for,from Pick Guard Heaven. Sent them an email,and my phone number,and decided to send them a fax also. Got a call from them,within couple hours,while I was sending them the fax. Turn around was within 15work days,as they promised. Just got it today,and put it on the T20. Previous owner primed and painted the original pick guard. I tried to clean it,and it was looking dull,so I decided to replace it with the tortoise pick guard. I know some don't like the tort pickguard,but seems to dress it up a bit?

Well, when it rains it pours. This showed up on Craig's List yesterday not too far from home. Called the guy and worked out a trade with some cash. Took a ride today and came back with this 2nd Gen TL-5. The wings look like a rich, reddish brown mahogany and with the natural maple neck through it looks like a Sarzo. I may get some black dots and do the eyes. This thing is just gorgeous. Well maintained and has a good set up. Weighs right under 10lb as best I can tell. (The bass was hanging and I rotated the pics.)
Does anyone know who made these machine heads? They are on a first model 1982 Peavey Fury with the 1.750" topnut and T-20 type SuperFerrite pickup. Actually a re-branded t-20. I've searched the net and come up empty. They are like the Grover Titans and have a short shaft on the cloverleaf. Screw mount or anti-rotation pins would be fine.

Mech i have seen one like that with a broken neck.someone is selling it dirt cheap.i was wondering if the electronics and hardware will be an upgrade to my axcelerator5 i am trouble restoring.the electronics does not work yet for i cannot find pots with correct values.or am i better off buying new pots with different values?Well, when it rains it pours.
