FWIW, I think very highly of my Foundation 5 - it gets gigged more than half the time I need a 5er, even though I also have an EBMM Sterling 5 HS, and a Hellraiser-5 to choose from...

NBD! T20-FL. I can’t find a mark on it ! It has some of the black case residue on the back of the body - not bad though. Thinking of maybe sanding the body down and doing a tru oil finish on it. Needs a setup - action is quite high - although it’s my first fretless so not sure where I’ll end up setting it yet. Pots are a bit scratchy - contact cleaner should take care of that. I think this was a case queen - it can’t have much play time on it at all!!! I love the grain on the body wood! It’s going to be a player.

Congrats! No need to refinish. Naptha (lighter fluid) and a little elbow grease will take the goo off. Use a toothbrush if it's down in the grain. Won't harm the finish.

I am going uto have to throw the t40 into front line service due to my bent fury. It's well setup luckily just needs some fresh strings what can I expect the difference in sound to be with bridge or body strung? No chance to really experiment so I will go with forum advice.....

I've owned a few basses with string thru and top load options, tried them all both ways, and never heard a tonal difference between the two... Personally, *I* prefer top loading, because I feel it minimizes the chance for string twist, and usually allows for a greater choice in strings... Thru the body stringing frequently requires the use of long scale plus strings...

I'll second the "never noticed a difference" regarding through body and through bridge.

Yup, no difference top or strung through body. Although I prefer through body because my favorite DR strings are longer than most. I try to avoid winding the full diameter E string on the post if possible.
